A Legend and A Victim..

Today, family, friends and fans of Joe Paterno attended his
funeral to say good bye to a man, who was the identity of Penn State
University. A man, who spent his life building a program, and molding young men to make positive contributions to our society. Paterno died on Saturday, amidst controversy in regard to his actions or if you agree with others, inactions in regard to the Jerry Sadusky child molestation allegations.

When Paterno passed, ESPN and other sports stations rightfully distanced themselves from the ugly scandal and withheld judgment in regard to the actions of Paterno and played all day long, highlights of the man, who was Penn State.

I agree.

It wasn’t the time or place to discuss Sandusky and the ugly crimes, he is charged with doing. That wasn’t Penn State or did it define, who or what Paterno was. As early as last week, prior to his death, I was prepared to write a scathing opinion on Paterno. Like most sports fans, I saw the ESPN report of Paterno giving his last interview with the Washington Post, where he said, McQuerry mentioned the shower incident, but he could not understand, what was going on. He didn’t understand, man/boy sex or molestation and when I heard that, I was thinking, dang! Joe! Did you need McQuerry to draw a picture?! Are you trying to tell me, that you were so out of touch of the ugly crime of sexual assault on children?

I don’t think so.

I think Paterno was in touch of such crimes due to his faith in the catholic church, surely he heard of the national allegations of priests committing sexual acts on children, going back
years. I’m not saying Paterno, knew of the crimes, but he heard of the term, child molestation before. But in spite of all we’ve heard, Paterno was a victim. He did not deserve to go out in the fashion in which he did.

What Sadusky did was not Penn State and the fact that Paterno may have trusted his assistant coach by allowing him to show kids, who may or may not attend this school to be in the locker rooms as a tour or on the field of what have you. Sadusky’s crimes are his and not only did it ruin these kids lives, but he ruined a lot more other lives, starting with Paterno. He was the winniest coach of all time, passing another classy and legendary coach, the late great Eddie Robinson of
Grambling University. Robinson was allowed to retire and give the reigns to Doug Williams.

Paterno had that opportunity taken from him. But I guess in a way, Paterno was a hero for
the school, because by not retiring 10 years ago, Sadusky was denied the reigns and forced to retire.

Can you imagine, if Paterno had retired and given the reigns to Sadusky?

Yeah. You see it.

RF23 - The Difference Is Leverage

Yesterday the NBA Players Association rejected and also intimated that they are going break up their union and sue the NBA for breaking Anti-Trust laws.

What?!

Based on what?
Is there something we don't know about in the public, that hasn't been said?

Throughout the whole lockout, all I heard over the radio airwaves from Stephen A. Smith is that the players don't have leverage. All of the cards are on the owners side and that the players didn't do their homework, until the last minute.

Also throughout the lockout, all we heard is that the players are not as strong or don't have a leg to stand on to justify keeping their current Collective Bargaining Agreement aka CBA, when the owners, opened up their books, not only to the players, but to forensic accountants to show that despite having a successful season in ratings, the owners in smaller markets lost money.

Further throughout this lockout, we've heard players say that it's about respect and anything less than 52% percent share is disrespectful. People like me, who is not privvy to the talks, way short of sources and inside men to feed me breaking news information only get what is reported and left to take a side.

It's Kobe v. Shaq; It's T.O., v. McNabb

It's black v white, and the latter is the one thing that some Black Joe Sports Fan is going to run with. It's an argument, that one who truly understands, has sources, an inside man and the facts will never win.

Because in the mind of Black Joe Sports Fan, it's a bunch of white owners taking advantage of the poor black ball player. And it doesn't help when you have Bryant Gumbel in opinion comparing the commissioner to a overseer and one of the NBA Players Association Attorney saying the league is like a plantation. No. other. facts. need. to. apply.

But its gotten worse, Foxsports columnist Jason Whitlock took lighter fluid and ignited another race grill by calling arguably the greatest ambassador and one of the reasons, why these poor black ball players picked up a basketball in the first place to earn the money they earn, Michael Jeffrey Jordan, a sell out.

That's right, apparently, Owner Michael Jordan, is supposed to be cool with the money he's losing with small market, Charlotte and be happy that the big market teams such as the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers can continue to accumulate wealth just because of their markets alone. Jordan is supposed to be know what the players are talking about and side with them, since he was one of them. And since he's one of them, he's supposed to be cool with losing close to $100 million dollars. That's crazy and Whitlock is irresponsible for writing that, because of that irresponsibility, present and former basketball players like Stephon Marbury are repeating what Whitlock wrote.

I'm assuming that this is the leverage the Players have. Already, words like bully, intimidated are being used to describe the owners. I wonder what would happen if words like ignorant, uninformed and out of touch of what's going on in our national economy were placed on the players..

RF23 - The Big Pass

Okay, I've read the indictment and I'm straight sick from reading it. For almost 10 years, a monster was on the loose and more free than the animals at San Diego's Wild Animal Park. And no one did a damn thing..Lemme, lemme ask you all something, you're twenty-eight years of age, you hear what YOU recognize as rhythmatic slapping that coincides with sex. You, probably hoping that a player or one of the coaches is knocking the boots of some cheerleader or an of age student and you walk in to see a grown, spit! man! having anal sex with a 10-12 year old boy.
Remember, you're twenty-eight, not eighteen! you know damn well the difference between right and wrong and for damn sure know that you call the police! and not your damn daddy!

You're a janitor, that works for the school, you see a grown man giving a young child oral sex and you don't do a damn thing!

or

You're a coach of a proud Big 10 (12) Conference School and you hear rumors at first, off hand jokes and then finally told that an eyewitness saw one of your closest friends, longest tenured coaches sexually molesting a child and you pass the buck to your "superiors" and don't do a damn thing afterward. No follow up, no nothing.

or

You're an administrator at the university, you take the statement and interview the witness in regard to the alleged molestation and you do nothing.

Have you noticed I haven't even mentioned the sick monster that allegedly committed those crimes? Because, knowing how sick this bastard is! the individuals and parties that knew of this monster and did nothing is just as worse or even as worse as the bastard that did it!!

These were 10-12 year old boys, one boy was over 14, when a wrestling coach, thought of something foul when he walked in on the monster and minor in the weight room.

Nothing.

You're student body and long time fan of Penn State football. The coach as been there forever it seems and when the news and admittance that he did not do enough morally..You continue to support him and when the news that the school is firing the coach, who should have been gone 15-20 years ago!

You riot in support of the man, who clearly didn't do enough, who coached for a team that had in his ranks a child predator, who now has a receivers coach, who only told his dad, at a school who covered it up.

And the NCAA is worrying about tattoos, whose parents got paid and why they don't want a damn playoffs.

RF23- Forgive and Forget..Not me.

With the news that the great Joe Frazier was death-fully ill and now passed. I read the news obituaries and comments about Smokin. Joe. Frazier. One report had that Don King, the same Don King, who if you heard being interviewed, can't be quieted was emotional and quieted by the death of one half of the thrilla of the manilla cast. And then there was Ali, Ali made a brief statement saying he respected Frazier.

Really Ali?

You see, I, like every young fan of boxing, who watched Ali fight with my dad and brothers, was a Muhammand Ali fan, a big Ali fan, everytime Ali was on with the great Howard Cosell, he demanded instant attention and for me my respect. Because you see, I heard the stance Ali took in regard to Vietnam. I read his auto-biography that told us that he grew up in Louisville, KY and the reason why he began boxing in the first place, was because someone stole his bike.

Ali was the greatest. But then I saw the HBO documentary about Ali v. Frazier's first fight dubbed the "Fight Of The Century." I. was. pissed., I was mislead about the so called greatest. You see Ali may have been bullied as a boy, but what he did to Joe Frazier was tantamount to black on black crime and the weapon used was the most dangerous weapon of all..

The tongue.

And for what?

Money? to get back what he lost? jealousy? hatred?

Today, Ali can't articulate in his own words of what caused the behavior he exhibited towards Frazier and continued to do so after the first fight.

He called Frazier a Tom. a Gorilla. his fans called Frazier a sellout and doing the devils (white man) bidding for fighting Ali, who a good portion of the public felt that if the average black person who was drafted and giving their lives to a war, they didn't start but doing their duty in comparison to Ali who refused and said, No Viet-Cong never called him, nigger.

But he called Frazier worse things.

That documentary had me so disappointed and angry at Ali, I couldn't look at him. Of course, when that program came on, I was making my transition from being a X-Clan listenin', Malcom X hat wearing and blaming da white man, black militant. I started to see the country in a different way. I stopped blaming some unknown white person for my own bad choices! and I realized what I wanted in my government and in my country. And the more right, I went, the more insults I received..

Sell Out..Tom..boot licker.

Somehow, I went from being articulate to non-thinking and unable to give good credible reasons of why I'm a Republican. A Black Republican.

A parrot.

This does not compare to the hell, Ali put Frazier through. His wife..His children! Only one man of color could know of what Frazier was going through and I don't know what his stance was during the "Fight of Century" and that was Hank Aaron.

And Aaron was being victimized by racists! who could not bear the sight of a black baseball player breaking the record of their so called greatest! And I can go further than Aaron! Jack Johnson! and he went through a helluva lot more than Aaron!

And you have a black man in Ali, to do what he did to this man, his family and his values for a buck! Oh! the documentary said that when Ali was banned from boxing it WAS JOE FRAZIER THAT GAVE HIM MONEY!! TO FEED HIS KIDS!! TO TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY!!

and he did this to this great champion. I will always respect Ali for his talents in the ring. But I will never, ever! respect the man outside of the ring.

Forgiveness was yet again another great feat that Joe displayed.

I haven't heard the Tom Joyner Show in about some years and all about ceased going to his http://www.blackamericaweb.com/ website, I guess because my kind wasn't welcomed on his site and Joyner and myself had an email volley on the subject of barack obama, where I scored a no love TKO! on the former commodores bandmember from Alabammy.

Not only has Joyner remained at the old "new low", but I think he succeeded by digging exactly one foot deep and two inches far left at the old "new low." By suggesting that his audience and black folk in general vote for obama, because he's black and the right thing to do is condescending and downright ignorant of Joyner to spew his racism over the airwaves.

But he's not the first to do so among black talkshow host or dj's. Recently, Steve Harvey likened Tavis Smiley and Prof. Cornel West as "Toms" because these two men had the nerve to criticize this president on their "Poverty Tour." Harvey said, "Tom is driving the bus." This is the same Tavis Smiley that received ridicule and was betrayed by Joyner when Smiley openly supported Hilary Clinton for President over obama. Heh, looking at hindsight it appears Smiley is probably right.

Smiley and West appeared on "The Larry Elder" Show a couple of weeks ago in what I called was a missed opportunity for two of the three men, I greatly admire was on the air and nothing was accomplished, except that one had to prove how conservative or liberatarian he was and the other proving how liberal he was. But Smiley made an interesting point, in which I disagreed, but to support his criticism of barack, was that this president squandered a great opportunity to make a change and he didn't. He also said that this president should have, with both houses in his back pocket or as barack said, driving the bus with the republicans in the backseat, should have passed a third, fourth TARP and given it to the cities and not the states.

I disagreed.

But back to Joyner. It's a shame that a good portion of black folk [not anyone in this group presently contributing] gave Joyner an amen, when he said it. I give Joyner a shaking my damn head. No need to seek his termination, because apparently if you are a white democrat or black, the media gives a pass to open racist remarks as their right to free speech, but let Limbaugh, Hannity or even Larry Elder say that..

RF23 - Dodger Sink To A New Low..

According to Fox Sports, The Dodgers and it's Owner, Frank McCourt is seeking to place blame on Dodger Stadium beating victim, Bryan Stow for being involved in an altercation, which almost killed Stow. Also, sharing the blame are obvious the animals that nearly killed Stow.

McCourt who is fighting to hold on to a team, that had a sub-par year, a drop of over 1 million fan attendance and disapproval rating slightly higher than barack obama's when it comes to Los Angeles area fans, is also stooping so low to blame the victim of his own beating and for what?

Wearing a Giants jersey?

Rooting for his hometown team?

Or he should have known what he was getting into before he entered Dodger Stadium? I mean hell, it's no secret that Dodger Stadium is/was dubbed "The Black Hole II" for a reason. Everyone has heard, seen fights, or witnessed over zealous fans talking smack, which leads to fighting in the stands or handling it after the game. But to place blame on Stow, who's only fault was that his kids had to witness the cruelty of what human beings do to each other and now they're going to witness their father's name and character brutalized some more!

and for what?

To hold on to a team, that over 1 million fans refused to see in person, and oh yeah! wants McCourt out as owner.

The Dodgers have sunk to a new low and it's sad, because this is one of the most storied franchises in baseball history. And now it's history and legacy has been robbed by an owner who only wanted to use them as an ATM machine. If the Dodgers want to place blame on Stow, then the fans ought to thank him for being the icing on McCourts dwindling cake.

With the killing of ghaddifi today by what some are reporting by the French of all people or the rebels in which we supported in hopes to brighting up the future of all Libyans.

Or did it?

According to Aqeela Sherrills, a local Los Angeles community activist, on his facebook page he wrote the following:

" And apparently today, “they” have been successful in murdering Gadhafi… Lest we forget:Under the evil dictator Libya enjoyed the following:· Highest standard of Living in Africa· Homes are considered a human right"

Well ya'll know me, I have to come in and play a little with my brother in law and wrote:

"For some strange reason, i feel a little different about this killing, than I did for osama bin laden or saddam hussein..here you have someone, who got that the US was pissed about 9/11, disclosed it's wmd's. I dunno, I guess it is way delayed justice for the Lockerbie terrorist attack..anyway, it's not apparently [ghaddafi killed] and who is "they"?"

I'm not going to add the other comments from others, because, well, never mind. Anyway, he responded, probably getting mad at me because, it seems that everytime he writes something on his page, here I come messing with him. Anyway, he responds:

"You know who "they" are...them that started the whole campaign. Guess???

Being obtuse to what or who he's talking about, I wrote:

"Islamic Brotherhood? no, they're in Egypt..no really who?"

And then he said exactly what I knew what he was going to say:

"The good old U.S of A and it's band of international crony's, you know us..." and he went further..

"Our foreign policy is fucked up! We keep trying to real it in however, we've discovered that WE don't actually control it...you can't vote it away because if u go up against it, "they" will kill you, Like they killed MLK, Kennedy, Sadam, ghadafi and so many others"

Huh?! When did our foreign policy get Dr. King killed? I thought it was over 100 years of democratic backed racism and Jim Crow laws that got King assasinated. Last checked that was our policy..

You know in the past, I used to equate black folk who spew out liberal talking points as slaves and on plantations. Yeah, before Hillary Clinton equated a republican majority ruled houses, as plantations and Bryant Gumbel equated the Winter Olympics as a GOP convention and most recently calling NBA Commissioner David Stern as plantation overseer...I was going around calling black folk who refuse to use their own minds, decisions and individual rights to vote what was best for them, as slaves. At times, I think I ought to go back and restart it, because for some reason, there are some people in this country, who are American, can't stand our country. They can't.

and now, although we didn't do ghaddafi..it's our foreign policy thats fucked up.

Another thing, that we red, white and blue loving Americans like to say is, well, if it's so bad..get the fuck out, to people who all day and night bitch, moan and complain about what's wrong with our country and when asked what country is better..silence. Sometimes it gets so quiet that movie theaters ought to ask that question, right before the main attraction.

So again, if it's soooo bad in this country and you are enjoying the rights to move about the country and with a passport can visit other countries [not unless you owe child support]..then why aren't you practicing your individual right to move the hell on. And spare me, I'm American [now you're one of us] and I can say what I want. Yeah, it's true, you do have the right to say what you want, thanks to our fucked up foreign policy against the British and every enemy afterward, which includes the democrat led Southern forces sportin' the bars and stars whistlin' "dixie."

RF23-Guys were Guys and Men were Men...

Hey, my name is JC and I'm from Long Beach, California..No, not born and raised, but from..In reality, I'm a US Navy brat that bounced around on the needs of the United States Navy. You see, my dad was in the Navy, where he served his country for 21 years and finally retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his tenure, we lived in Navy housing including Long Beach Naval Housing on the Westside of Long Beach, where I went to the Naval Housing daycare and then to Webster Elementary School for Pre-school and Kindegarten. In Navy housing there were white and black kids we played with, but the majority of the housing area, were filled with white kids and then we moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in a neighborhood where it was majority white and there we stayed until 1978.

And then it happened.

Feeling his kids were too white and needing to be toughened up, my father moved us from the white neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the blackest of black neighborhood of Compton, California..and the funny thing is that he was stationed in San Diego, California aboard the USS Prarie (AD-15). And to make things worse, three of us had to be bussed to Mckinley Elementary School, where we were reading at a higher level, writing at a higher level and oh yeah...

Didn't say "ain't", "fissin' to" and what up blood? and then cuzz. Hell we didn't say "cut" we said "skip" when someone jumped the line, and usually when the person cut in line, it was right in front of us, when they did it, we usually heard, "shut up or I'll fuck you up, bitch" or suck my dick, punk!

We were bullied. Chastised for the way we talked and behaved. But you know what, we defended ourselves and the bullying stopped..

So excuse me if I don't get the drama of teen-agers or young kids commiting suicide because of

Bullying. We all were bullied, talked about for wearing "bubble gums" for tennis shoes, still wearing tough skins and God help you if were seen in Zody's

There used to be this reality show called, "HS Reunion" and always, always there was a guy or girl in the house still carrying a grudge toward a classmate because that classmate made their life hell in HS. I once commented that these people should have gotten over that and that the biggest scoreboard is how they're living their lives, but apparently not. But still today we got kids actually killing themselves because either one kid or a group of kids are talking about them..Whatever happened to sticks and stones? And whatever happened to defending yourself and the adage of "If you defend yourself, win or lose, the bullying will stop." That seems gone and now we see reports on CNN on how to stop bullying..I'm sorry that is as useful as the guy on the radio telling he has books to stop your unruly child. Both the bully and the unruly, misbehaving, tantrum throwing child both need they ass beat. We don't need to see other wimps, on television describing their pain of being bullied, when they should have been describing how they balled up their fist, and swung for the fences, kicked and bit as hard as he/she could. Instead, we get stories of young kids, commiting suicide because they're gay or perceived to be gay or girls commiting suicide, because of what someone said about them on the internet!

Is this what Gen. George S. Patton's America become? A bunch of lets talk about it and find out the reason why..

According to Drudge, the Taliban says the U.S. does not have proof that Osama is dead; Shoot! (pun intended) provide proof that he's alive! I'll go with he's dead and they can join the people who claimed to have seen Elvis; Aliens and Tupac.

"Daddy Don't Talk" - According to Frank McCourt, he claims that he's been silent in the last year, at the request of his sons. Really? well thanks, because your divorce proceedings said a lot. The way he and his ex-wife ran down the Dodgers spoke in volumes. Now as of today, there isn't a sports radio station in town that hasn't had McCourt on, and after each every interview..it seems that Frank is still not talking. This is where his sons should tell him to shut up, no, really be quiet! McCourt was on The Dan Patrick Show this morning and when asked this simple question:

DP: Why did MLB take over operations of your team?

McCourt: I don't know, they haven't told me

Now, if I were to ask those of you that are following this situation the same question, I'm sure you all would be able to answer it and something I would not hear is, "I don't know." Well anyway Frank, since you're in the dark about the reason why, here is Commissioner Selig's initial reason:

"Pursuant to my authority as Commissioner, I informed Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt today that I will appoint a representative to oversee all aspects of the business and the day-to-day operations of the Club. I have taken this action because of my deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers and to protect the best interests of the Club, its great fans and all of Major League Baseball. My office will continue its thorough investigation into the operations and finances of the Dodgers and related entities during the period of Mr. McCourt's ownership. I will announce the name of my representative in the next several days.

"The Dodgers have been one of the most prestigious franchises in all of sports, and we owe it to their legion of loyal fans to ensure that this club is being operated properly now and will be guided appropriately in the future."

There you go Frank, now you know. Now the next move is to answer the allegations, admit or continue to deny that your divorce laid open your books for all to see; admit or deny that your deal with FOX was a loan to cover up a misdeed or just admit you can't afford the team and bow out gracefully. Because quite frankly, Dodger fan had three celebrations, one, the announcement that the league is snatching the team from you and two, Navy seals snatched Bin Ladens life and three, the complete recovery of Brian Stow.

Tomorrow Bob Costas is supposed to be on "The Dan Patrick" show to express his anger over the Barry Bonds matter. I guess the rat on his head is gnawing at him and got his ladies undergarments in a bunch. Apparently, the verdict pissed off our white brethren and some are close to comparing this to OJ Simpson.

OJ almost locked off two people's head in what was a gruesome scene, some years ago..Barry locked off Hank Aaron's record and made Babe Ruth, a household third place name. The sports media has bigger issues within itself than express outrage over a game and records. It's already worse that Bonds is going to be denied entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame for doing something that was not prohibited in his sport!

I don't want to rehash the whole ugly truth on how Major League Baseball was slower than a snail going uphill with a backpack, in regard to regulating it's drug program which includes steroids. It enjoyed one steroid induced season that involved Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, after it canceled a season and world series. So like the NCAA, baseball profited off these players to bring butts back into seats and when it was player's butts in the sling either from congress or the hypocritical media, MLB slid off like a frightened snake.

And now, Bob Costas is outraged that a jury could not come up with a verdict that said Barry Bonds, knowingly used steroids. Instead, the jury said, Bonds obstructed justice in regard to BALCO and of course, this leaves Bonds

RF23-Lost Message

Apparently the last elections meant absolutely nothing to our elected officials on both sides of the aisle. To the democrats it was supposed to mean that the people are sick and tired of being over taxed and regulated. To the republicans it was supposed to mean that the people picked their side of evil to at least adhere to the voices that put them into office. To the President, it was supposed to usher him to the center; be a wake up call that his chances of re-election is slim, but again, it seems that our politicians think they woke up and ended up in their positions and not voted in. Which is so maddening because it's the people that placed them in office, we control, well we're supposed to, if and when we'll have elected congressman or senator fill in the blank back in office, but apparently that notion is spit on.

Last week was supposed to be the republicans stand to the president and show to the nation that they are serious about curbing gov't spending and looking to make necessary cuts to bring down our large deficit. A gov't shut-down should have happened until the democrats either tapped out on what the republicans wanted cut and the nation see those cuts. Instead, we got the usual doom and gloom from democrats about the cuts being a war on women, the elderly and whatever lame program. And I think I'm being nice in my description, of doom and gloom. What was missing from the democrats was the usual, a solution! If group A wants to do this, group B should come up with something to either debate or counter with. Both sides clearly see that gov't spending is out of control, it's the cutting part that one side can't seem to do.

There's a lot of work that needs to be done from the TEA Party's stand point, one, we still have to rid ourselves of weak knee'd so called conservatives. I get sick and tired of seeing so called conservatives melt down after a hint of racism or any other type of cism is lobbed at them. They got to go, we need conservatives that know the CONSTITUTION! and by God means to defend it and apply it in our American lives. Not apply the Government in our lives! but the Constitution! We have so called republicans, who are conservative around election time, I imagine a good number of them will see the blinking conservative light and realize the conservative light does not blink! it's on all the time! and it's bright! Those looking for the blinking light should be ushered out with liberal democrats. And Democrats need an overhaul of their party as well, this ain't the party of Kennedy! If John F. Kennedy were alive, he'll be considered a republican based on his stance of tax cuts! Did anyone catch the pose and smile event yesterday at Dodger Stadium? L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa, L.A. Police Chief Charlie Beck, City Councilman Ed Reyes were giving weak stern warnings and admonitions to the two punks, that nearly beat to the death a SF Giant fan on the Dodgers opening night. All they were missing was failed and so called republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to give his weak one liners from movies past and it would have been a good day.

Stephen A. Smith had it right when he hit the airwaves on 710 ESPN, with all those threats from so called elected leaders, who did they scare? Not the punks that committed the crime. Who did it inspire? No-one! The only inspiration is the now $100,000 reward for people who saw the incident to call in and give the police the information needed to catch the punks. Smith also asked why the need to offer a reward, what happened to common decency and being outraged that a man went to Dodger Stadium, with a friend and his child and was nearly beaten to death..The people who witnessed the whole thing, needs $100,000 for common decency. I have a scenario for those who were there and adopted "No Snitchin."

What if it was you? a family member? a friend?

Would you be glad to have a good Samaritan who gave the police all the information needed at the initial onset of the crime or be glad that someone saw the reward and all of sudden said, "Now I remember!"

RF23 – A Little Confused Here

I supported the War Against Terrorism, which included going into Iraq and Afghanistan. I supported the capture and eventual execution of Saddam Hussein. I had no illusions or questions about why our troops were in Iraq and I didn't care if Hussein had WMD or not. What I did care about is his refusal and pointing his middle finger at a pissed off United States and not disclosing and if he had them disarming his country of WMD of any type. For that, we needed to be knee deep in his you know what.

And we were! Our young men and women of all military branches performed magnificently and with surgical precision. They performed and continue to do so with al qaida insurgents from other countries getting involved and kicking them to the curb.

I supported that! And although I was young and probably didn't understand why I was going to Saudi Arabia for a small country called Kuwait. Once I was there, my mission was clear and I understood two things. One, them before me and two, more of them, before me, meaning, I was going home, they were being picked up and placed in mass sand graves.

I heard the blood for oil chats, I heard people like the late John Murtha accuse our men and women of war crimes, I saw groups like Operation Pink protest and call for the impeachment of Pres. George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. I heard our now President non figure, say that the war was lost, an insurgence won't work and oh by the way, didn't support Iraq, half way supported Afghanistan, want to close Guantanamo Bay and by the way is still open and processing more terrorist.

So excuse me, if I'm confused about why our young men and women are being asked to die in Libya. I don't get it. I can't claim it's for oil, since we get our oil from Canada and Mexico and even if oil flows our way, it's 2% of sweet crude. We don't even use sweet crude! So blood for oil may be a legitimate debate, but it wouldn't be useful.

I'm still confused.

Maybe the administration is telling the truth that it's for humanitarian reasons and the sight of planes cutting down people seeking freedom and a democratic government is little much. I get that. Who wouldn't?

Who is going to take leadership of these countries? The Muslim Brotherhood, are known terrorist and extremist and reports last week from the State Department say that in the group of rebels in Libya, is al qaida! Yes, the same al qaida, our troops put foot to backside in Iraq and doing it in Afghanistan, in spite of their weak commander in chief! in Obama.

I asked this question last week on Face Book...if the state department is reporting that al qaida is among the rebels...who are we providing air support to? one answer I got, the dudes by the pipes.

Somebody tell me what the hell Donald Sterling was thinking. How in the hell are you going to celebrate "Black" History Month in March, when it's been held in February for the last 30 odd years? And to make this matter worse, you call yourself giving out tickets to "disadvantage" or "poor" blacks!

Damn Donald!

What the hell is wrong with you? First, you are involved in a lawsuit, in which you are accused of housing discrimination and oh! by the way, you settle the suits for over $2 million dollars. Next, and this is kind of iffy, but hey! Donald, you lit the match and gave us smoke, you are accused of racial and elderly discrimination by Elgin Baylor. I know, I know it's kind of iffy, since Baylor stuck with you for over 20 seasons, but there's smoke. I won't even get into your unprofessional treatment of Baron Davis.

So where's the double standard?

According to USC professor, Todd Boyd, there's a perceived double standard, when it comes to how these type of stories are reported. This major error in judgment by the Clippers to celebrate "Black" history month in March is embarrassing and Sterlings' past indiscretions should be brought up and I agree with Boyd on this, but, to point out that the media would be all over this if this was an athlete, I dunno, and since the NBA is majority black, I guess in a round-about way, Boyd was trying to bring race into it.

Look, I'm the first to point out shoddy reporting on black athletes and the level vitriol placed towards them. But to wonder why Sterling's gaffe didn't make the news or ESPN is wrong nor is it a double standard, especially, If the media was all over Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, when he was recorded in a drunken stupor. I don't recall Boyd commenting on that.

Criticism of Sterling is correct. Media bombardment of this gaffe is kind of a reach.

RF23 - Mubarak Shines..Obama Molded

This morning on Drudge Report and other internet sites, it was reported that the Egyptian president was going to resign and step down amid the protests and talks with other parties in regard to an easy transition. Meanwhile, Obama is in Michigan, looking to take credit for what is perceived as the Egyptian people looking for change and hope for a new democratic society. The White House, long having taken sides against Mubarak and urging him to step down for change, started popping champagne and printing out Obama slogans for 2012 for a hopeful second term. Well, in old school slang, "he got molded!"

Instead of hearing the Egyptian president give his farewell and probable "I'm sorry for being here so long," Obama and his administration got an earful of Mubarak's version of Jennifer Holiday's "I'm not going" and instead of ending it with "You're going to love me." Obama got the back hand of Mubarak and basically told to step.

Look, no one knew what to make of all these protests and surely who, in their right mind, would be pissed at some people looking to fight for their rights and independence. Problem is, from afar, we, as Americans, have our own interests to look after and quite frankly, this administration showed it's hand and no care for our security and oh by the way, we now know what the Obama Administration's foreign policy is when it comes to our allies, even those, who are termed as dictators.

Support the group that hates our American way of life and individual freedoms.

Mubarak and before he lost his freaking mind, Saddam Hussein are and were defenders from radical islamists and they are not alone in receiving US aid or support from past and now this administration. Obama showed his hand and now appears to be weak to our allies. He and his supporters see it as improving our world status, in a way their right, but for the wrong reasons. He's being laughed at, threatened and ridiculed; and in the same, the United States is looking real weak.

Mubarak shined on Thursday, Obama continues to struggle with trying to be great and make his mark with some type of legacy, instead of the guy who was voted in because of his skin color.

Al "Race Hustler" Sharpton is on MSNBC, hosting the Race Hustle Show and long time Los Angeles radio talk show host, Larry Elder is back on KABC..In short, we got a lot of work to do..

I have had enough of this mess, I mean really! While catching the last segment of the Stephen A. Smith Show, I thought I heard him say, he's going to talk football and a lot basketball since, December 23, is the last Stephen A. Smith Show. I was thinking that maybe since time was running out from his last interview that he didn't have time to qualify his statement, with last Stephen A. Smith Show of the year.

Well, it will be the last show, period and now we're back to being on sports talk radio, all white...all night and day. According to the news, Smith will be an NBA analyst for Fox Sports...hooo hum, so freakin' what! If memory serves me correctly, that was what he was supposed to be doing in ESPN after they chopped his "Quite Frankly..." and his ESPN radio shows in New York and all of sudden...he's gone from ESPN altogether.

I don't agree much with Jesse Jackson, but during the Imus incident, Jackson said that TV [radio] airwaves needed more minority shows, and still after his statement and the Imus incident, Imus is back on the air! and I still can't name one minority that has their own lead show on the TV or radio in the big markets.

Something has got to change, I can't think of one reason, except the bullbleep reason of he's doing NBA analyzing for this man to be off the air. He's done everything asked of him; he toned down after being criticized for being too loud and abrupt and after appearing on a few FOX News Network Shows, he was even asked to tone down his independent political thoughts. For the short time he's been on the air, Smith once again proved like his shows in the past, that he has something to say, his thoughts are different from usual takes on certain subjects and he's fresh! and now his show is gone!

Another black radio show host, Tavis Smiley is losing his gig with KCET or whatever public television channel in your city and last checked, Smiley was with NPR, the same NPR that recently fired Juan Williams a few weeks ago for partly agreeing with Bill O'Reilly's "muslims were responsible for the 9/11 attacks."

So where does this leave us? lets see we have nationally..The 2 Live Stews? nope, although they are on Sporting News Radio Network, they can only be heard locally in Atlanta. Michael Irvin? nope only in Florida.

I think maybe it's time to rethink my position on the "Fairness Doctrine." Not for less conservative talk radio, but to end the all white..all night and day radio and television talk shows.

ENOUGH!! BASHING OF MICHAEL VICK

Okay, I've had enough of this continued bashing of Michael Vick from people who simply needs to get a life. About two weeks ago, Vick played the game of his life, that will never be duplicated. Football fans and so called analysts praised his play over the Washington Redskins as one of the greatest games witnessed and for me a little bit listened too, as I was driving home when the Eagles took on the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. It was a great game, but all of it was lost on the fact that Vick was convicted of cruelty to animals and served 15 months in Ft. Leavensworth Prison in Kansas.

Let me say that last part again, Vick was convicted of cruelty to animals and served 15 months in PRISON!! He served his time and after initially lying about the situation, admitted too and too his punishment. The crime also cost him millions of dollars on and off the field for doing what he did on the football field against Washington. Exactly how much ridicule should he take? Should he be tarred and feathered, branded with a "D" on his forehead, what?! Because I thought, once a person serves his time in jail or prison fully, he should be able to go on with his life and mind you, Vick has a talent, that talent is playing in the NFL, and so far since he took over, he's done that well. Apparently too well, after the game against Washington, the L.A. Times, posted letters from apparent dog lovers, folks who are missing a life or unable to have normal human relationships with us humans or future mass murderers in waiting, who were literally pissed off that Vick is receiving praise for his football play.

Meanwhile these may be the same people who have no problems with murder, rape and mayhem of other humans. What world are we living in, when a famous director, who continues to be on the run for date raping a teen, and just because he wins an Oscar, he deserves to be absolved from his crime. Meanwhile, I'll say this again, a man is convicted of dog fighting (animal cruelty), serves his time and we're supposed to hate him...Please!

Oh Cam Nah!

I'm sorry, but if I had a vote for the Heisman, Cam Newton, wouldn't be my choice..sorry, but if I have to think about whether he knew or not his old man was pimpin' him out to colleges and I knew he was thrown out of Florida for being arrested and cheating. I'm sorry his redemption is being able to suit up and play again at that level. Not Heisman trophy winner. There's no doubt this young man, can play football, well he can execute it, but I don't see a NFL future for this kid. Sure, he'll make his money, but I don't think his future is going to be bright. I hope I'm wrong, but where's Vince Young?

RF23 – IF There’s Smoke

I've been keeping my opinion to myself on this Cam Newton story, in hopes it's just smoke and not fire, but apparently, there may be fire.

It appears that Newton's father, Cecil Newton, like Reggie's got greedy before it was time to be greedy and apparently attempted to or sold his son's talent to play football in the media proclaimed "greatest college football conference, the SEC." According to reports a man identified as Kenny Rogers went to Mississippi State and said that in order to get Cam Newton's talent, the price would be $180,000 and that amount was the discount price, meaning that Newton's bid was higher than $180,000.

At least Reggie's family got a crib, some cars and some pocket change...

After denials by the Newton family and being unable to contact Rogers, until today on ESPN 103.3 (Dallas), the story should have died down after Auburn officials claimed that Newton is eligible to play and no wrongdoing is attached to their school. However, after a shakey media conferences by both Newton and Auburn coaching staff, the story has a pulse and it looks like Cam Newton may have been done in by his old man. Also, according to reports, Cam's father may have wanted the money to improve his church, since he's a deacon. I like the quote by Deion Sanders on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday, where he dismissed that notion..

"I don't believe that one bit, because that money wouldn't be used for that, if so that's not glorification to God, but exalting yourself"

Now we have stories, in the form of leaks from other schools saying that Newton's father did in fact start the Cam Newton auction and oh by the way, Cam is not a good guy. We know this, he admitted so in an interview with Jim Rome on his radio show on October 26, 2010, where Newton seemed to take responsibility for his misgivings at Florida University, where he was found to have bought a stolen laptop. And now there are reports that Cam cheated in school by taking one students paper and turning in one paper from off the internet.

Dang Cam!

Look this story is going to get worse, and then there's going to be casualties. My estimation, it's going to be Cam Newton and Cam Newton only. It's going to cost him a probable Heisman Trophy and maybe a chance to play in a national title game. But like all casualties, Cam has a choice, he can either succumb to his injuries or overcome them and be a NFL great.

I hope he chooses the latter.

RF23 - WHAT ABOUT BLACK MEN/BOYS THAT ROCK?

Last night, I happened to catch the butt end of BET's Black Girls Rock. The show was about celebrating young ladies who are making a differenc in their communities by various act of charity or starting programs that could assist others.

Fine..Kudos ...hooray...clap, clap, clap.

What I have a problem with is that the show was on BET, yes, the same BET that has the award show, that once had rapper Drake and Lil Wayne out there rapping, with girls between the age of 7-10 years of age on the stage, as they used bleeped out b-words and bleeped out h-words. The same BET whose programming is responsible for more junk on its music videos and reality T.V. programming. But somehow, we're supposed to be so happy and prideful that for one day, they stopped and honored

Fine, kudos, hooray, clap, clap, clap.

Here's an issue, while partly watching the show, I happened to catch an article by Courtland Milloy of the Washington Post, where he wrote that movies by Tyler Perry portray black men, as adulterous, abusers of women and/or drugs or criminals. He asked where are the movies about positive black men who overcome odds from their various backgrounds. Hell, the last movie that was close to that was "Antoine Fisher," and I think before that was "Men of Honor" in honor of the Navy's first diver, the late Carl Brashear. Before that it was Principal Joe Clark on " Lean on Me" and that's it. But there is one problem, none of those movies were by Tyler Perry. So now I'm stuck agreeing with a columnist, I don't care for, due to his liberal, victicrat writings. And who knows, I may have been lured into one of his woe is me, us articles by noticing that Perry only does "black chick flicks" that demoralize men. But hey! BET was celebrating Black Girls that Rock.

Isn't it about time to celebrate Black Boys That Rock? Isn't it time to show our young black men that there is more out there for them, but gangs, carrying the rock up and down a football field or basketball court or carrying the rock to be sold. Our young black men and boys are hurting, they are facing high unemployment rates, some lag in education and unfortunately a good part of them are coming in and out prisons. Is this their only fate?

It ain't right.

But of course, it must be right for BET and its executives to maintain the stereotype that our black young men and boys are a bunch of n-word, b-word, h-word using, saggin' pants and pick a color rag wearing thugs that can play football or basketball and oh yeah..

RF23 – Hung Out To Dry

Bill Cosby, in a speech said that lower economic blacks aren't holding up their part of the deal in regard to Brown v. Board of Education and he was slammed. Cosby backed up his speech and wrote a book..Nothing.

Juan Williams in 2007 wrote a book titled "The Phony Leaders, Dead-End Movements, and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America--and What We Can Do About It." The book was lauded as powerful and insightful, although other Black Americans wrote similar books including the late great, Ralph Wiley and Talk-radio host, Larry Elder, a liberatarian-Republican, wrote not one book but two! books outlining the same issues as Williams.

So having said that, I like Juan Williams, because, unlike other democrat supporters or far left liberals, Juan allows for discussion, at times not overly emotional when he debates and lastly, at times, agrees with the other side of the aisle. And the last is what got him into NPR's bullseye and ultimately fired.

First, he agreed with Bill O'Reilly's amended statement, that "extreme" muslims were responsible for 9/11. As you know, O'Reilly was on The View, and without clarifying his statement, as if he needed to, said that muslims were responsible for 9/11, which caused Little Wayne aka Whoopi Goldberg and that dude Joy Behar to have a "wonder-twin power" moment and turn into a exit door and leave the set of The View.

And then Williams furthers his agreement by saying what everyone, who boards a plane has said or thinks. He gets nervous when muslims dressed in their garbs boards a plane and he's on. I! get nervous, when muslims get on the plane! I get nervous when I go to an ATM and there's a group of black thugs around and I laughed my butt off, when Rock made his contrast between black folk and [spit] ga's! Cause it's true!!

So why is Williams out of job? Because he's a longtime contributor on FOX News and according to NPR, his editorials don't match what NPR puts out.

Liberal.

Now we have Juan Williams, out of a radio gig, and no-one standing up for him, the naacp (at one time in history, that organization, deserved to have it letters capitalized, but since they are long gone from the establishment it used to be...I think that little of them and therefore the letters are what they are) is busy playing one-man race card against the TEA PARTY; I guess their War on the use of the word nigga or nigger is complete.

Well, Juan is not alone, a part of society stands behinds him all the way and that's folks who believe in the 1^st Amendment; not afraid to voice their opinion and not give two pieces of Chinese money on who's feelings are hurt. And strangely, it ain't the folks on the left.
They handed NPR the rope, and hung him.

RF23-Change of Direction

While heading home from work, I caught the last hour of the Mark Levin Show and of course the topic was Gloria Allred’s latest client, Nikki Diaz, an illegal alien, who worked in Gubernatorial Candidate Meg Whitman’s home for nine years. Just last week, Levin’s interview slash debate with Allred went viral on the internet and some news waves, as Levin asked Allred, how was she referred to Diaz and if the attorney put her client in harms way by exposing her as an illegal alien and perjurer.

It appears that Diaz, used a fake social security card and drivers license to gain employment with an agency, which subsequently placed her with The Whitmans.

So here is the question, is Allred, anti-immigrant? Did she not clearly think through this situation? or was she clouded and overly excited to get one over on Whitman and sway a few voters, who are not sure on this candidate, to Jerry Brown’s side.

I find it strange that the media hasn’t picked up on this and questioned Allred, with more vigor and maybe show a little disgust, because she did expose this illegal to further action by the federal government and if not that, should bring up questions as to how this individual had the gumption to admit she lied about her identity, forged government documents and oh yeah, she’s not supposed to be here and how come the CA. States Attorneys Office (Jerry Brown) hadn’t acted on this, out in the open crime and how come the Federal Government has not acted on the crimes committed by this illegal alien.

I’m not a Meg Whitman supporter, because of her waffling on the issues in regard to illegal immigration and her stance on some controversial propositions. But I’m sure after this political ordeal. She’s going to change her stance on illegal immigration.

RF23 - Well, Well, Jay Marriotti...

It was with great surprise and probably glee on my part to hear AOL sports columnist and ESPN "Around the Horn" contributer Jay Marriotti was arrested for domestic violence, here in Southern California.

Why the glee? Because Marriotti is one of many sport writers who feed us in their papers or on television their disgust and glee that an athlete has been arrested for, fill in the blank. And it doesn't matter what athlete, these so called moral arbitors of our society deem every athlete guilty before his or her day in court and they lash out without trying to hear the other side of the story. So this is my glee, a known sportswriter, arrested and placed in jail for putting his hand on a woman and at this point, I don't give a damn what his side of the story is.

Why the glee? Let me give you a bunch of quotes from Marriotti in regard to athletes being arrested for domestic violence.

So now Marriotti, will join Marv Albert and Jim Lampley on a list of fallen columnists and I'm sure the next athlete that commits the crime of abusing his wife or breaking the law...Jay Marriotti is going to be mum...he betta!

RF23 - Loyalty?! Please!

I was going to let well enough alone, when I received an email about Cleveland Cavaliers owner, Dan Gilbert's open letter to his fans about the departure of Lebron James. Well, that's being nice, his cowardly letter to the ungrateful fans of Cleveland. Gilbert, instead of showing some type of class, stooped down to the level of some fans, who burned James' jersey and near rioted.

Let me get this out, ever since, I've been a conservative, and starting seeing a different perspective, I took some for defending different positions in regard to race related issues, and bringing different point of views. Were some of my views always right? No, but I gave them and I defended them. For instance, a former co-worker of mine, no matter what the situation blamed the white man for everything and despite my pointing out that things have gotten better, her daughter being accepted into Stanford based on her SAT and grades, for instance. She still blamed the white man. Well, I can't change her point of view. And I can't change this point of view of mine.

I believe that racism is rampant in sports, in regard to black athletes and journalists. And after tonight and incidents over the last week or so. I'm convinced.

Quick question, exactly what did Lebron James owe the state of Ohio, the City of Cleveland or it's fans. Let's see....NOTHING! he gave his all for seven years and lived, played every bit of the hype the MEDIA said he would be. In just his second or third year in the league, he led the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals, a place in the 90's, where Jordan slammed the door the shut on them. Although they lost to San Antonio, he continued to provide Cleveland and it's fans with winning seasons and exciting play offensively and defensively. And in turn, he was compensated as to his contributions to the team and both the Cavaliers and James benefitted with a full arena for forty one games.

So what did he owe? Loyalty. Please, if James had gone up for one of the spectacular dunks and Joe Theismann his leg, how loyal would be Cleveland be? How loyal would Dan Gilbert be? Cleveland fan? Ohio?

Smith announced on his radio show, that according to his reliable sources, it was highly likely those three would be playing in South Beach. And of course the media ran with it, but with nasty ventriol such as ESPN's Bill Simmons reported tweet in regard to Smith's report of the trio going to Miami. Syndicated sports show host, Dan Patrick, who knows all about leaving and loyalty, made it a point to mock, Smith's use of "sources" and when the opportunity arosed, he would say, his sources to non breaking news stories. One no name host, who used to be on "blind date" called Smith a hack on KTLA and then was wrong on his pick that James was going to stay in Cleveland.

I am a huge "Everybody Loves Raymond" fan, and still today, I watch re-run after re-run of the hit television show. For instance, the most showed episode is when older Brother Robert, finally marries Amy and during the ceremony, Marie, the mother, interrupts the ceremony leaving the nuptials in shock of the event. Little brother, Raymond, who was the best man, was to give a toast and wasn't prepared, until as he put it..

Material always shows up. And for my weekly essay, material did in fact in show up. Some material I was holding onto, because I couldn't formulate my thoughts to clearly express my opinion and as the week goes on, more material showed up and thus, my title.

What the world needs now....

Lets start....

World Cup: As most of you know, I am not a soccer fan, I couldn't care less about the world cup, who was in it or where it was being played, but again, material always shows up, in the form that our U.S. team was almost screwed in its opening game and screwed royally on its second. By virtue of the fact that before the games started, a South African official was reported to have said that he hopes the U.S. team doesn't make it out the preliminaries, kinda rose a red, white and blue flag for me and I started watching and rooting for our boys. I think I can handle soccer, I won't watch it fervously, but I'll have interest when the U.S. soccer team plays international games. So, if I got patriotic over our soccer team, what the hell was France's problem? And does anyone know, what the hell happened? All I know, is that one player got into an argument with the coach, the player is sent home and the team refused to practice. And oh by the way, they lost.

Stephen A. Smith: I love this brotha, I listen to his sports show on Foxsports Radio, I read his columns and I for one, get him. On Monday, Smith announced on his radio show, that Lebron James is going to sign with the Miami Heat. Smith said his source for almost 14 years, dropped this on him and according to Smith, this source is and always has been, a more than reliable source. So with that announcement, came either backlash or interviews for Smith to explain his source or his breaking story. One sports columnist, wrote a nasty piece on Smith's story, causing the radio host to respond and ask his fellow journalist to be civil. Again, like the Men's soccer team, I'm now in a pridicament in hoping and praying this brotha is right, so his haters would have to "shell up!"

Gen. McChrystal: Look, this guy was Obama's guy, this guy was supposed to find a way out, not win, but a humane exit for our troops out of afghanistan. He was picked by Obama, so why are we surprised to hear anyone, talk about this enept president. And now look, at what the president has to do, he had to go back and hire, President Bush's guy in Gen. Petreous to handle Afghanistan. Remember when Obama was questioning Petreous plan for a surge in Iraq. I wonder, if the first words uttered from Obama's mouth, was I'm sorry or you were right. I doubt it.

Racism in Sports Talk Radio: About two weeks ago, I was listening to a local sports station, when the topic of two San Diego Chargers refused to sign their $3.2 million tender. One of the host, Scott Kaplan was trying to make a point that one of the players, Vincent Jackson, a wide receiver, should sign the tender, because of his off the field problems. But this is not the issue, when Kaplan is talking about black players and gets into his sketches, his use of supposed to be black dialect is outright insulting. After this blog entry, I intend on lobbing a letter to the station and probably carbon copy the NAACP.

Robert Byrd: For some strange reason, I bet if he were a republican, the media would remind us to no end that Byrd was/is a KKK member. That's right, he was a domestic terrorist. BO: Yes, it was and I thank the people of Louisiana for being outspoken and rightfully angry about the leak and the lack of leadership provided by BP and the prior administration.

CJ: What did you see?

BO: I saw Bo Bo, a street vendor selling Obama t-shirts and pins, I went to a local barbershop and Cleon mentioned that his clients haven't returned since Hurricane Katrina, I stopped by to see Ray Nagin and to congratulate him on his fast reaction to helping the people of New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina.

CJ: Well that's good, there are reports in the media that you were slow in getting to Louisiana and not showing enough emotion.

RF23-Oops, They Got Nothin'

The appeals court, may have just pitched strike three to the federal government in its pursuit to prove that Barry Bonds perjured himself in his BALCO testimony, when the slugger admitted to using the cream and the clear. The appeals court denied the federal government of using urine samples, believed to be Barry Bonds..

Now what?

The case should go away and we're left with speculation on Bonds, and the outright truth on Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemons, Andy Petitte and other protected ball players before either Jose Canseco and Victor Conte tore down. Mind you, Conte has repeatedly said that Bonds, did not inject steroids, nor did he witness it..furthermore, the same Conte provided names of athletes and baseball players who did use steroids or masking agents and it turned out true.

So..

Who do we believe? the sports media that feels the need to report useless sports information in regard to athletes lives or the people who was in the steroid game. Canseco has written, what? two books and each time has shaken protected or media favorites from the media "don't report" tree.

I doubt this story gets two minutes on the four letter network, because we're all supposed to giddy about a bunch of one named guys running up and down a field and kicking a ball for ninety minutes to score at least two points to ensure a win or the ever so excited nil to nil tie game...

Over the memorial day weekend, the wife and I were in Indio, CA., honoring an invite from my high school buddy, his wife and another couple. This wasn’t our first meet with this couple and they pretty much know, the nickname, my friend calls me and why. For the record, the name they call me is Ruckus, a character on “The Boondocks” the cartoon.

Anyway, while watching game 6 of the Lakers/Suns game, a commercial came on showing Arizona R(INO)epublican John McCain and I booed. They were surprised I did that, knowing that I voted for McCain over Barack in November, 2008. And so, ensued the conversation about politics, which I am willing to discuss, but when someone says, that the country is corrupt and has been since its inception, I take issue and I don’t want to talk to people like that, especially those, who insert that the early settlers to the New World, were a bunch of crooks. Although partially true, the early settlers also consisted of people persecuted for their religious beliefs.

Look, you have to be blind to realize that politics is game, and only the best with the gift of gab will make good politicians and those who are good at lying will definitely make good ones. But it’s our country! the only one we got and she’s not perfect, but I’ll be damn if I sit there and listen to a middle class family bitch about the economy, when it hasn’t affected trips to Jamaica, cruises to the Bahamas and so forth.

But somehow, if I were to mention, that damn, one day, I would like to go and feel that they should give up their trip, the one they obviously worked and saved for, to me. I’m sure, I’ll here their real remarks and it wouldn’t sound like, “I just wanna spread the wealth-even the playing field” spewed by the president.

However, through the shortened conversation, because I abruptly stopped the conversation by refusing to hear anything else, that equals, the country is corrupt and no good and until their savings are ripped from them, that poor people shouldn’t be poor people because the government should take care of its poor people general welfare. I just don’t want to hear any of that nonsense….I think I come to the conclusion, that I just write my thoughts and blog about them…because it’s obvious, I’m not trying to convert liberals and non-informed blacks, they’ll eventually get the picture, when it becomes clear. Hell, I still have a quote fresh in my head from my obama votin’ friend…”If Obama wants to create jobs, he needs to deport all these illegals in this mofo.”

RF23 - Prison, HIV and Saggin'

Over the last weekend, I went to get my fade tighten up and of course, I made the mistake of not making an appointment and had to ask that dreaded question of "how many" and getting that dreaded answer of three or more and of course the folks who had sense to make an appointment got to the head of line.

Like all barbershops, in urban America, the conversation in the barbershop is a good gauge of who smart and knowledgeable and unfortunately, who's not. Well, on that day, it was a mixed bag, so I decided to sit back and listen to neighborhood gossip and see what was being sold.

The conversation started slow, when one usual patron, mentioned that someone, who was 19, apparently got sentenced to 165 years in prison, earlier in the week and someone asked, damn! what did he do? In my head, I'm thinking dude probably killed a few people or was on strike 5 or something. Anyway, the shock of someone being sentenced to 165 years, brought up the subject of prison rape and whether this young person was going to be the ahem receiver or the ahem pitcher. So after a lengthy conversation of that, someone brought up that men, who engage in homosexual acts in prison, are gay and quite frankly doesn't change when they get out. Someone argued that it's part of the prison lifestyle, which was shot down in a quick fashion. No the overwhelming majority of those participating, pretty much said,"you do a man, you gay."

Next, was the issue of "men on the down low," and the majority of those talking pretty much said, "they're gay." Then someone brought up HIV/Aids and how come so many black women fall prey to these deadly disease. One brought up, that many feel that it can't happen to them and therefore engage in unprotected sex. Another brought up that some of these men engage in these acts after they're in a trusting relationship and then spread the disease to their unsuspecting partner.

So far the conversation was good, no one blamed the white man for dropping an AIDs bomb and affecting black neighborhoods. It all seemed civil, when someone surprisingly asked, "how do we stop it?" And one lady, said it all, "be responsible, protect yourself and your partner." At this, I shook my head and agreed.

So as that conversation ended, one of the guys who was getting cut, got up from the chair and to everyone dismay, was saggin' hard. His pants were past his butt and everyone fell out laughing...Dude had the nerve to ask, what? and the same lady, told him to pull his damn pants up..As a lady, she found it not attractive and quite frankly, questions his maturity. The guy stared at her, as to say, who the eff are you?, put his head down, and pulled his pants up.

No one wanted to discuss that, it's easy, pull your pants up..

RF23 - Aaron. Oh. Aaron.

For those of you, who are "Boondocks" fans and couldn't wait to see the season premiere after Obama was elected and inaugerated and just knew that either either Huey, Riley and even Grand pa straight act a fool with the history breaking event, probably within 10 minutes of the show, got their feeling hurt or well played into Aaron's hands that a few of us black folk are really ignorant.

The season premiere was one that made you think and if you didn't, Aaron punished his audience and especially black folk for not being informed and just getting caught up in the hoopla that a obama was running for president.

For instance, there was a British reporter doing an interview on the Huey, who obama had admonished and distanced himself from and also let Huey be labeled a "terrorist." When the reporter tried to ask the unusually stoic and deep in thought Huey questions, Huey remained quiet. He seemed like he was holding a lot in and I knew that in the end, he was going to straight go off and let those viewers who hadn't thought the show through, in on the joke, which was on them, and let them know that Aaron McGruder is still elusive. But he didn't.

Next, the interviewer asked Grandpa why he was voting for obama and when he said lower taxes, the interviewer notified Grandpa that since he was in a higher tax bracket, his taxes won't be lowered but increased. Then Grandpa said he's going to stop Iraq and Afghanistan and that was shot down. So after the exchange, Grandpa was left with, in my opinion a good majority of blacks, who are/were ill-informed, the one reason why they voted for obama..

He's black.

All through the show, you can see the points Aaron was trying to make and at the same time, I found myself worrying about his safety.

The season premiere of "Boondocks" was a season premiere and it shows that if you give McGruder that much time to formulate his thoughts..

Last week we were alerted that yet another young girl was missing and now as of this writing, we now know she is dead. And here's the kicker, the suspect, now accused, is a registered sex offender, who spent 5 out of his 6 year sentence in prison. He did the right things by registering, but that's not the problem..The problem is that he should have spent another 24 years in prison. The problem is that politics and a crowded criminal justice system is just tired and letting cases like this go by with no fight. The problem is that we have people among us, who don't have their fellow man in their minds, when they chose to sue and challenge laws that would have kept this person out of areas, where children play, go to school and live.

City after city, town after town have tried to adopt laws that would prohibit persons convicted of violent sex crimes from living 2000 ft from schools and parks..Challenged and one news network had the nerve to put the molesters as victims, because they can't find places to live. Laws have been challenged to prohibit more than one molester from living in the same house..challenged!

Law after law have been challenged and the molesters have been made the victims, while like families and friends of a victim murdered, like this young lady, have been and will be made into the bad guys..We seen this time after time, I hate bringing up Tookie Williams, but the fan fare and crowd in support of a man, who murdered four people and I don't give a crap about his being one of the founders of the Crips. The bottom line is that he had an extensive criminal record and he killed four people and look at what we got here..A man with a record for assaulting and attempting to rape a 13 year old girl spends 5 years in prison, protected! by the way! gets out and maybe responsible for the disappearance of another 13 year old girl and now the rape and murder of another!

I recently posted a question on my facebook page that asked guys would they be offended if the woman they were dating or seeing did a background check to see if they were on a sex offenders list or website..All of my friends answered no, but unfortunately, there are men among us, who would be pissed and would Don King talk the woman out of it..Before this young lady, we read and saw stories of a baby, sold by her mother to a man, who sexually abused and murdered the baby. And there are more disheartening stories out there.

So what do you wanna do? For over 15 years, Radio talk show host, Rick Roberts has been fighting for or fighting to keep stiff sexual offender laws on the boards. And expressed his anger of yet another upcoming law named after yet another sexually molested child. This law, will probably aim to keep sex offenders locked up for good. And like all other laws, will probably be fought against from our friends in the ACLU. The same ACLU, who has some of its former members making policy for terrorists, we catch on the battlefield in the war against terror. But that's another battle and debate. While driving, and the question was asked what to do. A lot of the callers kept bringing up the death penalty and keeping these monsters in jail. I laughed, because in California, the death penalty is a punch line. A damn joke! I mentioned Tookie Williams, but not for the movies, the nobel peace prize nomination and a few documentaries, Williams would have been just one more murderer getting his full due. And this is after getting a review of his crime some thirty years ago! Thirty years! In California, we have death row inmates, dying of natural causes, before the state gets to administer the justice, the family of the victim had been waiting for! Death penalty in California?

I have a different mindset, a different radical way to get the message across, that the ACLU, politicians and sexual molesters would get.

A modern day lynch mob, no! not like on Gunsmoke or Bonanza, but a huge gathering, for starters around the jail, where they are keeping this animal. Not only a few people, but larger than the amnesty protests a few years back. A message has got to be sent that no more! will we stand by and let politicians grandstand around election time and no good ACLU attorneys loop hole a way for creeps like these to walk among us.

Next, if you touch a child! your life will end in prison. So while we were celebrating living off the wall, lets not forget, he was accused of improperly touching a child and thus should have been living off the State of California's prison walls.

So have we had enough? Or do we wait until the next disappearance, registered sex molester in the area, body found, and another trial..Meanwhile, while that trial is going on...Another sex molester is quietly let loose in our neighborhoods.

This morning as a set out to get my fade hooked up, I stopped at a 7-11 to get a small cup of coffee, when bam! there it was, right above Tiger Woods' press conference. UCSD black students up in arms over a white fraternity's video prank depicting blacks in the usual stereotype.

Ghetto.

So after meetings with so called black leaders and hearing input from black San Diego City Council members, what does the school do? it pulls the fraternity's charter and then comes the usual, we are going to give money to fill in the blank black program..

That's the cost of portraying blacks in their usual stereotype. So can anyone tell me the difference when I'm over a friends house and his brother has two installments of a video called "Ghetto Brawls I and II." The video shows a bunch of blacks through out the country in every urban neighborhood or projects, fightin'. girls fighting and pulling each other's hair and ripping each other's top off. One girl in the video was involved in a fight after saying she was pregnant and didn't want to fight and here's the topper! after saying she was pregnant and receiving two round house rights from her opponent. The girl again says she is pregnant AND she had been drinking! All of this with a huge crowd of black oooing and awwing to this.

Yet a group of white fraternity boys is dead ass wrong for portraying blacks in a so called stereotypical state.

What's the damn difference?! Except that it's okay for blacks to whisper to one another and shake their heads when we see 20,30 and even 40 year old men wearing their pants damn near their ankles and some unable to complete a damn sentence. And lets not talk about the junk thats on BET and other cable networks. Who pulls the licenses of these networks, when they continue to depict such images?

Apparently this is a war that Al Sharpton is apparently losing. Either that or the networks have paid him off.

My latest sports vent and it's aimed at once again at the sports media. As most of you know, Tiger Woods plans to sit down and have a press conference to do whatever, apologize, cry! I don't know! but I wish he would reconsider or say what is really on his damn mind! and..

That's none of ya'll business what I do on my personal time. It's none of your business what he does or do it too, it just ain't and the sports media and media in general ought let him have that. What Tiger did or admitted to doing is only for his wife and his family to hear and either accept or reject his apology.

Not the media! He cheated on his wife! not on the damn golf course! He's famous because he plays golf! not because he's Ward damn Cleaver or Mike Brady. He lures millions to watch him play on Saturday and even more on Sundays when he's about to notch another win. And that's what the so called media ought to be reporting on.

Somehow that's changed, the media today is competing with other venues that garbage reporting is the norm and we get a bunch of people with graveyards in their closets giving their opinions and forcing their so called moral values on it's readers or listeners. And by the way, Mike Greenburg is still pulling a check for his Martin Luther "Coon" mistake, Jim Lampley is still calling fights after his arrest and no contest plea for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, but yet he opined about Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s tax problem. Meanwhile former Cowboys receiver and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin loses his job, after ESPN gleefully reported that a woman is suing him for alleged assault. Never mind prosecutors and police found no credence in this woman's claim, ESPN ran with it. I don't recall seeing Greenburg's mistake on the breaking news wire.

So if I'm Tiger, I'll skip the press conference, steal a page from Michael Jordan and have Ahmad Rashad pass on my thoughts and give him scoops..Ef! the rest. and in meantime, steal a page from Barry Bonds, and break all the damn records there is in golf, before he hits 40 and in a legend's fashion, when the record is out of reach and the media has got to say your name, on the 18th hole and all you need is a putt to win...In Jordan fashion, knock that thing down and when the crowd and media surrounds you...

Repeat Larry Holmes last words, when he was robbed by the judges in his second Michael Spinks fight..I'll gladly pass out chapstick.

I remember when Bryant Gumbel made a remark about the paucity of blacks in whatever, I don't want to research the whole quote, but it ended with it resembled the republican party. On sports talk radio airwaves, across the country, the same comment can be said and is even talked about as a sports subject. The lack of blacks giving their hot sports opinion on big market radio stations is so lacking that it ain't funny.

When you're talking about football and basketball, the percentage of blacks in the league are over 70% and I'm not even going to talk about the lack of black coaches in NCAA Div 1 football! and a "Rooney Rule" in the NFL in which some teams have found a way to circumvent.

With all of the above I just wrote, there are some sports radio host who will agree that something is wrong and something needs to be done. But how?

Who will give up their job to a minority?

Well as of know, I know one who wouldn't and apparently found a sports magazine to agree with him.

Steve Czaban, a Washington DC based sport talk host was informed that his contract was not going to be renewed with Fox Sports Radio and oh guess what?! Philadelphia Inquirer Sports Writer and former ESPN personality, Stephen A. Smith was signed to be a Fox Sport Radio Host.

Was Czaban, congratulatory? Hell no, he, along with the sports magazine writer bemoaned the fact that Smith had gotten his own show and even insulted Smith's last stunt at ESPN Radio.

So, if you're a white sport talk host, and you've held subjects that included the lack of minorities in sports talk, sports writers/editors and coaches. Here's a question, are you willing to give up your job to even out those areas?

We got one "no". And to that one no, if not you, who?

Fanz23 - HS Reunion? Get Over It!!

Has anyone seen the commercials or even watch a reality show called "High School Reunion"? I think it's been on for maybe 3 or 4 years on TVLAND. Anyway it's about a group of high school classmates who are nearing their 20th HS reunion and bringing them back together. Now, of course there has to be drama and the show finds it in "The Bully," "The Jock" or alas, "The Nerd/Geek etc etc etc."

And the last one is where I'm going to get controversial and maybe pique some conversation. What I'm about to write is my opinion and mine alone. But to the folks who were bullied, bagged on, picked on whatever! I only say this:

GET OVER IT!!

Damn, it's been 20 some years and you're still bitchin' about what happened two damn decades ago! We were kids and kids do and say mean things, but if you're holding on to this mess for all these years and expecting someone to look back and only say "sorry?" Okay then..

Sorry.

In the newspapers and even on television we see and read stories about a kid being picked on and coming to school with a gun and some analyst supporting this action due to bullying or being picked on.

I don't see it that way, I see it as cowardice! I see it as the picked on being exactly what they are on the totem pole, low and still full of predators because they are in fact, low in the food chain. Unable to survive in the jungle where the weak get eaten.

We all at some point or another experienced being talked about or even picked on, but at some point, we reached the limit and this is for those who are still holding grudges after some damn 20 years....

ready? because the solution is simple...I don't want you to miss it...here it is..

We let folks get to know us, we proved ourselves in other areas, where respect is given and whaddya know, we made friends and life goes the hell on.

Extra! Extra! Golfer, Tiger Woods was involved in a one car accident that involved him knocking over a tree and fire hydrant. His wife, comes out with a nine iron golf club and breaks the rear window to his SUV. She pulls Tiger out, who was reportedly coming in and out of consciousness. Tiger is then picked up by paramedics and the hospital reports that Tiger has injuries compatible to someone being in an auto accident.

So is that good for the press and folks who want to a different side of the story?

No.

Next, TMZ speculates that there may have been some domestic violence going on in the Woods household. They put out reports that the injuries Tiger had were not from an auto accident but from a beating from his wife Elin. Next, there were reports that the Florida Highway Patrol was going to serve a subpoena on the Woods household searching for evidence of domestic violence, when in reality, the only thing the FHP should have done was give Tiger a ticket, which they eventually did.

But was this enough for the sports media? or the media in a whole?

No.

One network female host demanded that we know the personal business of Woods. One newspaper outlet outlined a reason why Tiger is fair game and his personal business should be known by all.

Why?!

Because like every final round on Sundays, people tune in to see Tiger! And who doesn't want to know whether Tiger is Ward Cleaver or Roger Clemons, oh wait!! some sports media members are speculating that Woods has used or using steroids and therefore calling for the PGA to implement steroid testing. And who at the moment was/is in tip top shape, looking muscular? Tiger.

And now we have this, women are coming out of the woods for their 15 minutes of fame with their tales of "I effed Tiger" and here's proof. Never mind that they are just as wrong as Tiger for allowing him and them to be effed! The media claps and rejoices that Squeaky Clean Tiger has been tarnished and has spots, but the next day, they will be looking for that next sports hero..

I don't know about you all, but I'm tired of hearing and reading about the private lives of athletes, entertainers and so called reality stars. I don't care! nor do I care about what goes on when the camera lights are off, the scoreboard clock reaches zero and after the director yells cut. The only news, I should have heard or cared about is that Woods was in an accident, his status, what caused it and if anyone else was hurt. And like the end result, we received, the only thing we know and should know is that Woods was in an accident, he was slightly injured but okay, no one or nothing else was involved in the accident and he received a ticket for the damages he caused, which amounted to a hundred and something dollars.

That's it.

Time Out/Touch Down?!

Woods accident wasn't the only thing hitting the sports wave media..Saturday's game between cross town rivals USC and UCLA ended with depending on whose side you were on. USC was up 21-7 and had the ball, with a little time left on the game clock. UCLA had it's three timeouts and after USC downed the ball to start running out the clock, UCLA called timeout in probable hope that USC would continue downing the ball and eventually punt to give UCLA the ball back to amazingly score two or three touchdowns to win the game. USC seeing that, called a pass play and scored a touch down making the score 28-7. What happens next was reason to call the LAPD or Sheriff's department because UCLA players were pissed off by taunting USC players and coaches! and wanted to fight in the middle of the field. Which is strange, they showed no fight during the game, so therefore after being beaten and embarrassed, they found some pride and wanted to fight.

But Pete Carroll is the villain and Rick Neuheisal is the victim. Whatever! Neuheisal was correct in his post game press conference, they are responsible for coverage and they failed to do so. So based off that, Weis shouldn't been the only coach who was fired over the weekend.

So Long Roy: Boxer Roy Jones was TKO'd last Saturday in Australia, Roy, you were one of the greatest of all time and you are a Hall of Famer. Shut it down.

And it seems that more than white athletes get less play...Although news about Raider head coach, Tom Cable has been in the papers and sports news and although the NFL is supposed to be "controversial" free. It seems that if a black ball player and even a great coach like former NFL Tony Dungy had punched an assistant and his wife said that he beat her...Something tells me, this would be a story that will get more play time than the coward who attacked and killed 13 brave soldiers. And NBC would have fired Dungy and the NFL would have separated itself from Dungy and since Dungy is Michael Vicks overseer, suspended Michael Vick permanentaly. But this is what happened to Cable, anger management and he's still on the sidelines. Adam Jones can't find a team!! because of (SEX)SPN big story that everybody knew in the first place! Footage of Adam Jones in a strip club on the night when gun play happened...and what happened? Jones is out.

Let's go to something happening now...Running back and Free Agent Larry Johnson, expressing himself on his twitter page, wrote disparaging remarks about his coach and homosexuals. Now the disparaging remarks about his coach, experience or lack thereof is his right to question. The proof is in the wins and losses, and there are more losses for Todd Haley as head coach of the Kansas City Chief and there's nothing in his past as coordinater that says he is supposed to be successful. There is footage of him arguing with Kurt Warner and Anquan Boldin. So maybe Johnson as a player has a right to question his head coach, just like the media and arm chair quarter back fans. Now the part that was supposed to have got him out, was disparaging remarks about gays.

So calling someone the derogotoary word for gay on his own twitter account is cause for dismissal, but breaking an assistant coach's jaw and alleged acts of brutality on two women keeps a coach on the sidelines?

Something is wrong..

I can't help but think that if the tennis player had been black, used drugs and quit in matches the John Feinstein's of the world would be so forgiving. And if the coach had been black that he would still be on the sidelines.

Ft, Hood Tragedy

I only have a few words to comment on the senseless cowardly act that occurred on Ft. Hood, TX., my home for 5 out of 7 years, where I proudly served and where my kids were born. And when it was time for me to go to Saudi Arabia for a cause, I knew little about or of! I -admin edit-! went and fulfilled my contractual obligation! as a man and a proud citizen of THE greatest country on this earth. There is no place on this earth I rather live but here! and based on the numbers of people coming here legally and illegally, they know where to be! But for this animal, this coward! to do what he did to brave men and women preparing to go for the first or third time in harm's way is unmentionable and even appalling! Hell it is! and I agree with the commanding general of that great fort in Central Texas..Mentioning this coward's name should bring a nasty curdling taste to one's mouth...

At this point, I'm praying his ass! ain't a damn terrorist and that he committed 1st degree murder in a state that will put his ass! to death! Please!!! because if he is a terrorist, he shouldn't be allowed to sit in Gitmo and continue trying to be a victim...

Well with the football season almost half done, it seems that for some teams, the more things change, the more it stays the same. And who better to say amen to that than the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders on paper have a talented football team, but that's it. On the field, Gawd!! this teams relies on it's opponents to have a off day to get a victory. Case in point, Philly. Now for some other teams, being bad this season is almost shocking. Tennessee comes to mind, after going 13 - 3 last season, so called experts had them in the mix to challenge the Colts. As usual they were wrong. And let's have a hefty welcome back to the dungeon of losing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it's been a while since you stank, and now that lousy, dreadful smell is back. We missed you! and Raheem Morris, just in case you didn't know this..

For the past few weeks, I've been neglecting my writing and giving blog takes due to this doggone facebook and sadly, I'm going to limit my facebook postings, so I can get back into politics, since 2010 is so important and state Issues are soooo! important. So having said that, let's talk about "Fraud." We all know the definition of a fraud, the Ponzi scheme from last year was fraud, but I'm talking about propped up champions, fighters like Jermaine Taylor..Taylor is a fraud and in Taylor's case, he probably is a victim of the politics of boxing. As most of you remember Taylor was given Bernard Hopkin's titles after judges thought he won not only one fight, but two fights against the crafty and sometimes dangerous Hopkins. After those fights, Taylor went on to having lack luster fights and trying to defend, how come he ain't knockin' folks out. Well, that's easy, he's a fraud, we just didn't see it until Kelly Pavlik knocked him out and we still gave him the benefit of the doubt, because let's face it, Pavlik can swing!, but Taylor went on to visit the mat more times than Roy Jones, Jr., and in devastating fashion. And most recently, he was knocked out again!

BCS, Oh Well It's Here: In the past, I used to froth at the mouth at the BCS, because they were screwing undefeated teams and my boys, USC. And now with SC having a down year, which is considered a good year if you're a raiduuh or UCLA "Football" Bruins fan. I can't complain about it this year. I think I have succumbed to the realization that the computer and ESPN are never going to like the PAC 10, BIG WEST and other leagues west of TEXAS. But again, controversy is going to show it's head, if Boise State wins out, because they are going to get screwed for the chance to play for a National Championship, while East coast media darlins' will get the nod and jump over Boise State and again one team that lost to Boise State will get leaped frogged, because the only team they lost too, was Boise State and according to it's schedule...Everyone lost to Boise State. I think a playoff system needs to be done for at least the top 12 teams and everyone else play in Bowl Games.

World Series: Since the ANGELS, took one step to get by Red Sox nation, they apparently forgot they were Yankee killas and let them back in the World Series. At the start of the series, I really didn't care who wins and still don't! But if I had my druthers, it was the Phillies until some Philly fan had the nerve to talk smack to a guy wearing Dodger gear in Vegas over the weekend..I instantly changed my choice and now the Yankees are putting foot to azz on the Phillies. Thanks dude!

Maybe, maybe just maybe I may be a caring individual and not so black and white. Last night I was in the ER with the wife and although I can go on a litany of blasts on Emergency Rooms, I won't. But what I will write about is the controversy of elderly care.

At what point do we, as relatives or children of our aging parents or grandparents let go?

One of the points about the health care bill is that the Obama Administration is pulling the plug on granny, determining if an elderly person should die because of their age and obvious condition.

I found myself asking the same, when I saw a ninety year old woman, brought in by her own senior citizen daughter. The woman was non-responsive, because she was deaf, and in the hospital to get a blood transfusion. The daughter thought, all she had to do was bring her in and mom will get a transfusion and be done. So as the hours went on, finally a doctor asked the daughter if the daughter thought about hospice care, the daughter replied that she promised she'll take care of her mother and one more note, the mother's order was to have doctors do what they can to keep her alive. I remember the controversy of a politician, saying it's the elderly's duty to die. The comment has since been recanted and clarified, but is he right? You see the one thing, we hate to talk about is death, we as Americans are afraid to die, don't want to talk about death and damn sure don't want to talk about what happens when you die. The process the morticians do, the process if given, what an medical examiner does..We cringe that our blood, will be drained and replaced with a chemical to preserve you.

As I was looking at the woman, and it was hard to do so, because of her condition, I couldn't help but wonder, why continue? Let nature do it's course. Continued blood transfusions and monthly visits by a doctor only prolongs the inevitable.

So is the gov't right to include the limit of how much care doctors should give the elderly or should it be left up to God?

Either way, we as relatives have to face that death happens and we have to think about the person who lived a full life would want. For me, in that condition that lady is in or was in..Someone have mercy and let me go...

School Bus Beating

I haven't heard too much commentary on this matter, where a white student was beaten on a school bus, by two black students in Illinois. Initially, the police thought it was racially motivated, but changed it's mind. Also, this incident has now caused a bus driver to lose his job, after it was said he followed protocol during the incident. I recently posted on facebook, I thought this was a perfect example of bullying.

This just shows how cruel, we, as people even kids can be to one another. And, how disappointed I am to say this was bullying and not a racial incident. Unfortunately for the victim, he and his family are going to be hit with discrimination twice. Once, by being denied a seat on a bus, next by being denied a headline in the news.

Why?

At the season finale of this years installment of HBO's Hard Knocks: Cincinnati Bengals, DT, Tank Johnson was given a little air time lamenting that he was on last years Hard knocks: Dallas Cowboys and now this one and he wanted to pitch a show idea. What was his idea? Cribs, yep, you may have heard of such a show, but this one had a spin...

He wanted to show, people who live in, in his words, "shitty ass houses." And then the show went off. Now I didn't think much about it, because probably Tank was kidding and trying to be funny, but then last night after the Patriots - Bills game. ESPN switched over to Oakland - Alameda Stadium and bam! it hit me. Tank Johnson wanted to do a show on jacked up cribs. The Raiders, who are a team of years past, still plays on a baseball diamond shared by the Oakland A's. The stadium is right next to another dinosaur, Oakland Arena, in which the Golden State Warriors play. Both facilities are old and out dated.

So the question is why? Better yet, if Tank wanted to do a show, his first episode would be visiting the old, out of style, years behind in technology Oakland - Alameda Stadium. In an era where most teams have moved into new stadiums. The Raiders are still stuck in the 70's. This is a team that could have had at the time, a brand new stadium in Hollywood Park, when they were in Los Angeles. As a matter of fact, could have been the only team in town, because the Rams upped and moved to a new crib in freaking St. Louis! But, unlike the Rams, the Raiders upped and moved back to the same old stadium, where they have to share the field with A's. Tank had a good ideal, unfortunately, that's only one show.

And speaking of Hard Knocks: Hard luck was the call of the day for the Bengals, after driving down field to score what was supposed to be a game winning touch down. The Broncos were a little more lucky, after a pass by Kyle Orton to Brandon Marshall was deflected into the air, WR, Brandon Stokely caught the ball and ran it in for the game winning touchdown. And speaking of the Broncos, former QB Jake Cutler stunk up Packer stadium with 4 INTs, while his replacement, Orton got a win...scoreboard Denver.

Oh, how many teams are now kicking themselves in the ass, by not signing Michael Vick. You think Carolina would like to have Vick now. Jake Delhomme is what we thought he is. The only person now wishing the opposite is Donovan McNabb. McNabb was injured in the Carolina game and probably saw his Philly future go before his eyes. You see, looking at him roll on the floor in pain, was Michael Vick, with 2 games before he is eligible to play. McNabb is going to try to play injured with two QBs who are looking to take his job..The Eagles just signed Garcia, the same Jeff Garcia, philly fan picked over McNabb.

I saw a lot of posts about last night Patriots - Bills game, and folks saying that the Bills loss, was heartbreaking..No it wasn't, the Kick Returner fumbled the freaking ball and their defense couldn't stop "The Purple Hat" club.

I've posted many times that my eyes have been spoiled and soon my butt will be after seeing the new Cowboys stadium. It's hard to watch games after seeing the Jer-Mahal.

These past few days, months and almost year has been tumultous for me, I don't think I mentioned it on my blog, but after ignoring my doctors to watch my weight, eat right and just get off my butt. I was diagnosed with diabetes, at first type 1 and then improving to type 2. During that time, my marriage fell apart and caused my wife and I to separate. Although fault can be made for both parties, I took the brunt of all the blame and accepted my faults in our marriage. You see this was my third marriage and after marrying for the wrong reasons two times, I thought this marriage was right on..I made sure, the feelings I had for this woman were real and that she is someone I want to be with. And although, I was living off good intentions and what my heart wanted, my head and actions looked differently. I had issues that I didn't resolve from marriage one, and issues from marriage two that took my trust issues to uncharted heights. My fault not hers. But we all have a past and although mines might seem big to me, hers were bigger and although I knew of her past and pains, I tried not to dismiss, but I wished she would.

You see I love my wife and still do and after recognizing my faults for our separation, I made it a point to see if we could try again. If we could find what we saw in each other in the first place, which was enjoying ones company and doing things, we like..which are, if any hangin' with good friends and family. The first part has been difficult because my friends are in different states and hers at the time was in a different city.

So after accepting my apology and looking to try again, my wife and I decided to try again and this time, I was different, I wanted our marriage, I wanted her and didn't ignore her and most importantly, I love her immensely and without fault. So you can imagine my shock, when I was told that she wasn't happy. That she wasn't happy with her life and maybe, all the time she thought she was supposed to be married.

Maybe not.

I'm hurt and angry. Because of a litany of things, one, when I asked for a second chance, instead of looking at my health situation, and "feeling obligated, other words sorry for me." She could have said no, because the life she was living when we were separated was the life she wanted to live. This past week, I've seen that life and painfully, I don't know her anymore. Her whole demeanor has changed, she goes out practically everyday and she's living a life that is secret to me. And in that, I suspect other men are involved. And it's killing me. It is literally killing me.

All, All I ever wanted this time in my life was to be with a special woman, one who loves me despite my faults and quirks..I'm not unbending and I'm not stuck up to do things differently. I do have my morals and maybe those are unbendable.

I don't know, I just don't know. Where and what do I do now? It's obvious marriage is not in my cards, after failing three times. There's no way I could look at a woman in the eye and ask her to be my wife with three strikes on me..I want to walk right with God and now in just a few words..I'm back bedding down women to satisfy my sexual needs..Not for love, but to fulfill that need. I don't think I'll never love again...I don't think anyone will ever love me...

After all the ho hum about Obama's speech to school children, some people ought to just chill out. But it's hard to do, when the same outrage and disgust was displayed before by opponents of whatever party happens to be in the White House.

According to the Washington Examiner, democrats called then George HW. Bush administration members to The Hill to investigate if the president had done something out of the ordinary. Strangely there were no cries of racism or anything else lobbed at the democrats and the media seemed to back the whole investigation. So democrats waste taxpayer money to investigate President George HW Bush of saying...Well the same doggon' thing this president has just read to students.

But republicans and parents who don't support this president is wrong for not wanting their kids to even listen to this president.

Isn't that their choice? Schools in Texas and this president's home city even didn't allow the teleprompter read speech to be seen and some schools sent home "Opt Out" sheets giving the parents the choice of whether or not they want their kid to hear this speech. Maybe, study and work hard message is already the central theme for their household and don't need someone else who just says those things, but doles out millions, if not billions of taxpayer money to those who chose not to work hard, study hard and finish school.

Nevertheless, it's part of politics and no one is going to be happy about anything.

Fanz23's Take: What's Missing, Part 2

Just last week, I gave my opinion on pre-season suspended WR, Brandon Marshall and how I felt that if a black owner was there, preferably me, I would have sent Marshall skyrocketing straight back to the ghetto! And although my methods, would have had the players unions scrambling for the nearest United States District Court (Federal) for all kinds of injunctions and lawsuits, my point would have been made. But what do you about the event that happened yesterday in the opening weekend of college football between Boise State and Oregon. Boise State, dominated the Ducks for most of the game and if you played the game, being dominated like that is quite upsetting and if you are truly competitive, being dominated is pissing you the "ef" off. You see the jubilation of the offense or defense of the team your playing, basically telling you, "hey we're kicking your ass!" and to add insult injury, they get you for a safety!

A pure butt whoopin' for all four quarters, season is basically over if you're in the PAC 10, due to media bias for the SEC or BIG 12 or 10. And after you've been beaten, your opponent, for some reason decides to tap you on the shoulder and taunt you. And what happens, you sucker punch the taunting player.

So what's missing?

Well for one, LeGarrent Blount was Jr. College transfer and a senior and all of America saw that punch. and if all America saw it, all the professional teams saw it. Which means that LeGarrent better have a College degree in sight or......back to whence he came. Because the University of Oregon, suspended him for the rest of the year and for him, every Saturday, when he looks at NCAA football, he's gonna think about the day, he threw a punch and lost his mind by going after heckling fans.

Charge that to Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson.

Earlier I had taken the position of canning the kid and straight kicking him out. Oregon is one of the best colleges out there and the classiest. Fan support is great and they travel well for bowl games. But what Oregon is not, is LeGarrent Blount. He embarrassed himself, his family, his team, his school, people who may have looked up at him and unfortunately he will be labeled....negatively. Like I labeled him a "hoodlum." Which is wrong. He was writing his own lottery ticket and yesterday, he called out the wrong number and let Byron Hout take his ticket and throw it in the trash.

Unfortunate.

Let me tell you something, I'm really shocked at the reactions of some liberals, when it comes to these town hall meetings and when they get opposition, questions and protest about, fill in the blank. They're shocked! It's like they can't imagine people not falling for their liberal ideas and attempts to void this nation of what it's founding fathers imagined for this country. I mean really, lets look at it. If the founding fathers wanted a country that provided for everything for it's citizens.

Wouldn't they put it in the Constitution...yeah, I'm sure there were a few yayhoos from New York who wanted that, but no! what they did was put this little thing in there that says "Right to Pursue Happiness", America is, what you make it, if you chose to be a bum, be the best bum you can, but don't expect your neighbors to make you whole. If you chose to be a high school drop out, don't expect to get a phone call from a job saying you're hired, when candidate B has one. And don't expect the gov't to rip of his tuxedo and top hat, run into a phone booth, a come out as Super Gov't when a disaster happens. Now I realize that the gov't has provided and made programs to help out the less fortunate and although the intentions were good, the execution and the will of some of the individuals receiving the aid has backfired. Recipients of the War on Poverty has surrendered to a deeper force...

Entitlement.

So excuse Mr. Senator if I don't have zero confidence in you or any politician when it comes to things like health care or illegal immigration. You've shown so far, you'll muck it up and it looks like if this thing does pass, it'll join past failures, you know Social Security, how's that working? Look Mr. Senator, I'll accept this healthcare if EVERY BODY is on it, including B. Hussein's daughters, his wife, his American side of the family. And until someone says that, and it's on paper for all to read and all to vote on...I'll half way take it.

Now, the fact that you are now calling dissenters of this bill, un-American and racists is funny. It seems not long ago, you people were bitchin' from the number of clouds to how many gold fish are in the zoos. And got up in arms when someone said that some of your protests bordered on violence and outright ridiculas. And oh, by the way, does anyone remember the saying of history repeating itself? Well it looks like it did, when a black man who is in opposition to the health care was attacked by democrat supportin' union members. Kinda of reminds of the old days, when republican congressmen were beatin' up on the floors of congress for wanting to abolish slavery, the days when klan members, who supported the democratic party used to wake up out of their beds, blacks who wanted vote and spoke up on the injustices of Jim Crow. And now this, a black man who is in opposition was not being a good n-word, and guess what..He got beat up for not being a good n-word and staying in his place. Mind you, the irony of the whole thing is that one of the thugs was black and the other thug was white...The victim got a double whammy, beat down for being a uppity n-word and beat down for being an Uncle Tom (n-word).

So it's do as we say and not as we do..Never mind the democrats and a few whacko groups or individuals like Cindy Sheehan roamed our country like the buffalo used too, and hailed as heroes..No, if you don't want the gov't controlling your life and in your pocket...Well, well, you're just wrong! and un-American.

Fanz's Take: Use The Directions

Over the past weekend, the wife and I attended our first marriage retreat in the Palm Desert area with our church called "The Rock Church" pastored by Miles McPherson. The resort we stayed in, the Las Palmas Resort was a nice place which had a lazy river, and an adult only pool if you wanted to get away from a bunch of screaming, whining and sniveling kids. Oh! it had a 50 inch flat screen telly, which won me over, but! the telly and a nice weekend with the wife was not the mission at hand. We were there to make new friends in the San Diego area, since one, I'm new to San Diego and two, we like to fellowship with other Christian couples/families. I'm going to throw three in there as well, to strengthen our marriage. As a good majority of you know, my wife and I were skyrocketing toward divorce and was separated before I had an epiphany and realized that I was a genuine a-hola and had to make this right. We missed a marriage retreat before due to finances so we made it a point to go to one and this past weekend presented us that opportunity.

We left a little late on Friday, after planning to be on the road by 3 p.m., we left close to 45 after 3 and ran into a little traffic on the 15 heading towards the resort. Friday was a little hot and as we got further inland, it got hotter and we automatically went into Moreno Valley mode, because of the heat in that area and around it.

We finally arrived 30 minutes before the first session, which was hosted by Pastor McPherson and the first lady, they basically set the mode that in marriages, there are going to issues, but no so big that they can't work them out. After their session, we were treated to a comedian who was pretty good, I wish folks who left would've stayed, my man had us laughing with his Jerry Seinfeld humor.

The next morning, I thought I would be brave to get up and go work out with the pastor at 7:30 in the morning and folks it was about 90, 95 degrees in the morning, but to make a long story short, I thought I knew how to workout, but after 20 minutes, the workouts I was doing, wasn't jack in comparison to the workout on Saturday, I got tore back to the white meat! overall it was a good workout.

Our first session is where I'll be coming from because it stuck out the most, the speaker was Rev. Jim McCleatchen and he said something that stuck with me and gave me another "aha" moment. The speaker kept it real simple by presenting Genesis 1, 2 and 3. As you know those chapters deal with the creation of man and woman and their innocence, their openness and their face to face relationship with God, their creator. It also dealt with the disobedience, guilt, shame and blame of Adam and Eve after they disobeyed God and ate from the forbidden tree.

Essentially Adam and Eve were given simple instructions, don't eat from this tree or die. In the vastness of Eden, Adam and Eve had it all. And we know what happened.

Simple instructions...Follow the directions...Go by the game plan...

They failed.

And almost instantly, I thought of our relationship with God, we have simple instructions, directions and a game plan in which to maintain a healthy relationship with our heavenly father and I thought of the grill we purchased on the 4th of July weekend. Like our marriage, GaNeane and I agreed to vows to ourselves and God and when we opened the box to get the direction to assemble the grill, we agreed to follow the directions of the manufacturer or risk not putting the grill together correctly. As we started assembling the grill, we noticed that a few parts didn't match what was called for and like our walk with God, we decided to do it on our own and hope that it comes together...

Well it didn't and what we ended up with, was a grill that not put together. But we followed the directions, went by the game plan! How many times in your walk with God did Satan inject himself and throw tribulations at you? Some of us, like Adam and Eve fall prey to his whims and take your eyes off God and that's when he gets you..You're no longer pure, you're no longer innocent and you're no longer shameless, what you become is what Adam and Eve did, shameful, embarrassed and the bible tells us that they started to blame one another including the serpent.

Now we didn't start bicker and argue at each other over the parts or who could've done what wrong, no! what we did was called the manufacturer, told them the problem and they sent us the correct parts. I don't think it takes a genius to see where this is going..After being tripped up by Satan, instead of hiding, instead of finding someone to blame. God simply wants you to call him and come out with the truth. And like the manufacturer sending us the parts for the grill...God sent us, his only son to die for OUR sins. Now after we got the correct parts, we got the grill together and reaping the rewards of cooking healthy meals off it.

And after sending his only son to die for our sins, we should be reaping the rewards of God's grace.

Use the directions.

Fanz23 - City of L.A., City of Freakin' L.A.!

Once again the City of Angels has shown it's irresponsibility and disdain for it's voters by flipping the bill for an alleged, acquitted, civil suit settled pedophile, Pop Star Michael Jackson's memorial slash funeral service today. It was merely two weeks ago, that the city reached into her purse and came up with lint to pay for the championship parade for an alleged civil suit settled rapist and his eleven co-stars. The city at that time got the L.A. Lakers and Staples Center Entertainment Officers to flip the bill and have the get together at where else, the place where an alleged double murderer, civilly liable and now incarcerated for robbery running back showcased that he was going to be one of the best in his era.

I remember writing about things coming full circle, and can't help but think about that know.

The City of L.A., like the State of California is run by majority democrats and leftist of the left liberals with a few so called republicans teetering on being more democrats than republicans and none of them having an ounce of conservatism in their skin let alone bones. So it's no surprise to hear that since Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is out of the country, and the Vice Mayor, Eric Garcetti is in Japan that the next one in line Jan Perry, oh by the way, all names mentioned are democrats, would find some way to waste the City's funds on a memorial for the above described deceased entertainer while the City has a half of a billion dollars deficit.

This same city has laid off workers, cut programs and raised fees on general services such as trash and water. The latter two was said to pay for the police and firemen. Yet, the city, along with the State of California has imposed mandatory furloughs to it's workers..

Why?

So it can save money for the general fund.

So, I'm at a loss as to why, the City felt it was necessary to flip the bill and hope that private citizens from where ever would donate to reimburse the general fund, when the costs should have fit squarely on the Jackson family and AEG, the corporation that owns and operates Staples Center. It was recently released that AEG told the City to pound sand in regards to get them to pay for it and I imagine, the City didn't even ask the Jacksons to pay for it or given them the option to do what they did this morning..

Have the service in private for family and friends and get on with their lives. And this is what they half way wanted, on one hand they wanted to preserve the entertainment legacy of Michael and on the other, they want to sequester the dark periods of Michael's life. So the city in it's financial woes had no right to spend one cent of it's tax payers dollars for an entertainer, who lets face it, had problems with what Michael became.

In a sense Michael two faced or three faced his way into this situation. The changes of being black to white, the multiple plastic surgeries, white kids and strange behavior. So why would the City of L.A., and acting Mayor Jan Perry would feel the need to spend tax payer money on such an unnecessary expense. It benefited no one, but one family.

The City should be ashamed of itself, but it ain't. It'll continue to waste and find ways to up fee's or taxes of it's citizens and be shocked, literally shocked! when the same citizens tell them to...

Beat It.

Fanz23 - It's the Dash, Ya'll

You know when we die, we'll have a couple of things on our tombstone..Our name, year of birth, dash, year or date of death and few other things, father, mother, etc, hero and all that. And that's for show because the people who stood around that same gravesite, knew the person from the beginning, some between and in the end...That's the dash folks.

Today, a lot of us were hit that a icon that we saw from the beginning, the in between and now the end died today, along with Farrah Fawcett. Michael Jackson, that cute little boy and his brothers as he is remembered in his youth days has died from an apparent heart attack. Rumor had it that Jackson was not doing well health wise so his death should not have been a surprised to many, but as of today, he's gone.

And it's alright, we all at some point in our lives, is going to die. I remember years back, being not afraid to die, because I was confident that when I did, I was going to kick it with Christ in the uppa room. Absolutely knew it, couldn't tell me different. But as the years went on and my dash started telling different stories, and people who knew me saw a different me, because I've changed, maybe it was life or lifes lessons, I changed and death to me was the scariest thought I could have. I even had problems with the burial preparations.

Not no more..

So when we talk about Michael Jackson, what are we talking about, the entertainer who amassed millions of not billions of albums sold or the man who was enbroiled in controversy from lightening his skin tone and who can forget one allegation of child molestation and one charge, in which he was found not guilty of child molestation.

Which one? because the media is going to lump the two together and say it's the same thing. But is it?

You have a man, who many will speculate about his sexuality..You have a man who many perceived as going back to the hood, when the so called white man was trying to bring him down. You have a man who interviewed with the late Ed Bradley on 60 Minutes saying, he didn't see anything wrong with sleeping with children and you have a man who was swinging his child over a balcony.

Well, we returned back to the Rock Church in San Diego, this time taking the scenic route because of the Rock and Roll Marathon. It seemed like a couple of freeways and streets were being utilized for the race and thus causing havoc on traffic. We arrived with probably ten minutes to spare and got the girls sent off to Senior High Bible Class and found our seats in the same area we sat last week. First let me say this, I was expecting some protesting outside or near the church since the pastor was on all the cable news networks talking about last week's CA. Supreme Ct. Decision that upheld Prop 8. The Proposition to change the State constitution to define marriage between one man or one woman. The pastor was for protecting marriage and a huge advocate for Prop 8 and props to him and others that stood up and finally said no to people who ask for tolerance but are the most intolerant. Next, opponents of Prop 8 seem to have a problem understanding that Blacks and people who call themselves Christians are not going to vote or support "gay marriage." IT'S AN INSTITUTION ORDAINED BY GOD!!! it ain't gonna fly and until gays are denied voting rights, denied a place in a restaurant, job and etc., it ain't a civil rights issue.

The next argument opponents of Prop 8 make is that, "We're in love" and we deserve the right to spend our lives together. Question, who said you couldn't? A few years back, the people compromised and allowed for civil unions or domestic partners, which was to solve the issue of partners in regard to health insurance and other issues same sex couples were encountering.

We gave an inch, they wanted the whole football field. They put Prop 8 on the ballot thinking that since Hillary or Obama was running for president that this would be a good time to impose gay marriage on the citizens of California.

No dice and it backfired. A huge majority of blacks not only punched the chad for Obama, but also said "good one" and punched the chad for YES, change the doggon' constitution and lets end this already. Gays were/are pissed and insults the intelligence of black voters saying they were brainwashed and given wrong information from preachers like Miles McPherson.

Wrong! Blacks are conservative socially and they could be doing all kind of stuff politically but they don't veer to far left to allow gays to equate their sexual preference to what blacks have gone through historically..It's insulting. Last week I posted a quote but didn't name the person who said it and the quote was from Miles McPherson in the closing segment of the Larry King Show. Pastor McPherson said, "I know people who used to be gay, But I don't know anyone who used to be black.." Let's put it more simply, if the gov't was overthrown and the new gov't wanted to impose NAZI style laws. How many white gays would all of sudden be just white and still enjoy their lifestyle in the dark. Meanwhile blacks and Jews would be in concentration camps...

Moving to the lesson, first, props to the groups that performed last week and this week, they were great. The subject of this note is You are, What you are..In short you are what God wants you to be. A few weeks back I gave a scathing review of a church and my opinion of folks who hoop and holla, fall out or start the church olympics. And some of the replies were, wait until it happens to you.

Well..Would if it doesn't happen? Would if, I'm the guy who is reserved and not overly emotional in church. I don't speak in tongues and don't recall speaking it when I was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Alhambra, CA with Bertrand Daniels still pastoring at what's called presently Alhambra Christian Center. And if saying "Wooo!" is speaking in tongues, that wasn't what I meant...The water was cold! The thing is that, like last week we all have our different callings and places that God wants us to be. And here's one thing, WE ALL ARE UNIQUE! We have different make ups and we ain't the same. So don't be bummed because you haven't spoken in tongues yet or unable to hoop and holla in church.

Yesterday the state legislature and our California RINO governor got a huge boot to arse reality. By a 2 to 1 margin of votes, California voters told our lawmakers or lack thereof to pound sand, kick rocks and get the f'ugg oudda here with the nerve to ask US taxpayers to fork over more money after approving the highest tax hike in U.S. history.

Now, like Prop 8, they are saying, you the California voters are dumb, stupid and YOU are responsible for the reason why California is actually going through the "Big One" financially, instead of earthquake wise. They the legislature, the governor and B.O., think they know what's best for you, the voter. They think that since you put them office, that you are depended on them from buying kool aid to zoo visits.

They are wrong when in fact, the voters have been constantly asked for more school funding for a program that is putting out fifty percent drop out rates, more tax users than tax payers, irresponsible politicians, unions running the government and although I was part of it, the huge retirement benefits given to State and City workers. Californians have simply had enough and yesterday told their government where to put their propositions. Now if we can wait until 2012, so we can tell B.O. where he can go...

I have issues with people who think they are self righteous. Shoot, I at times have problems with me and we all at one point or another have gotten self righteous.

So why this subject? because soon to be released from prison Michael Vick is going to be looking for a team to continue his NFL career with. Problem is..

Which team is going to sign a player, who some think or feel participated in a egregious act against animals, dogs to be specific. What team is willing to stick up their middle finger to the crazy liberal leftist animals loons and tell them to scoop their cause somewhere else?

Who is going to argue that Vick hadn't taken responsibility and served his time?

Not me. And I'll tell you why. Although I have dogs and I wouldn't want anything to happen to them in any fashion. Dogs and cats don't rank pretty high on my priorities. Now it so happens, that my wife absolutely adores the dogs and calls them her babies and I imagine they rank pretty high on her priorities and she's not alone, my sister has two large dogs and takes offense if you call them dogs. To her, they are her kids.

Whatever.

But dogs and cats no matter how domesticated are still "animals" and the ruckus that followed during and after the Michael Vick matter is puzzling. You would think that Vick and his cohorts murdered people, enacted you pick the era genocide, whatever! You had folks crying and screaming and if I'm not mistaken, racial lines were drawn!

Over some dogs!?

So now Vick is ready to come out and I guess we can expect the above mentioned liberal leftist democrat votin' animal groups to protest again, but this time, I'm giving them no room. No only do I think they are domestic terrorist, but they are KKK sympathizers.

Recently I read that some members of PETA dressed up in KKK garb, hood and all, to protest over cows or something.

Mistake! and I'm offended, as well as anyone who read or know a parent or grandparent who faced the KKK back in the day. You see protesting to stop a manufacturer from making mink or a restaurant for serving a soon to be extinct fish is one thing...Dressing up like Grand Kleagle/Sen. Robert Byrd, democrat from West Virginia is another and therefore makes whatever protest or objection you have against Vick moot.

So sorry PETA, you need to come down your high "giant bean stalk" and quit being so self righteous.

RF23 - Have An Opinion About Gay Marriage..It Better Vibe With Gays

The more I hear and see events that goes against any group, wait check that, any liberal special interest group. I think of the saying, "People who ask for tolerance are intolerant." Meaning that they want concessions or any other wants or entitlements they feel they are not getting.

And one group that seems to be the most intolerant are gay organizations or individuals. Last November, California voters amended their state constitution to say that marriage is between one man and one woman. Key word, Voters.

One would think that after a fair vote on a historical day, when, well, lets move on, gays would accept that California citizens have voted and the majority having said, yes on proposition 8. Wrong! they went to the streets and protested the end results, they blamed the Mormon church and by the way, it's been over 100 days, and still no reports of gays protesting in front of black churches, however in those 100 days, they and other politicians have insulted blacks by saying, that they were confused and didn't read the proposition right. Gays started a "black list" on local business owners who donated money to "Yes on Prop 8" and continued to 'bmw' about the results.

So after weeks of bmw'ing, California politicians kowtowed to these groups and gave their support to these gay organizations and now the recently voted on proposition is being reviewed by the state supreme court. Strangely these politicians are wondering why the people are organizing protests and starting recalls.

So no one could have guessed that during a Miss USA pageant, a gay judge asked Miss California, Carrie Prejean on her thoughts in regard to gay marriage. With her continued smile, she gave a truthful answer, the same answer bho gave, that although he did not support prop 8, he felt that marriage should be between one man and one woman. The same answer given by H. Clinton. Yet there were no reverberations toward bho on election night. But Carrie Prejean? what she went through in just 3 weeks after her comments, as she said, should not happen in the United States. The gay judge, this flaming Hilton guy-girl, called her everything but a child of God, by which based on his-her choice to disobey God, will flame forever in hell. Next, racy photos of Ms. Prejean show up on the internet, followed up by demands that she resign as Miss California.

And Joe "The Plumber" thought he went through it..

So again, people like this Hilton guy-girl and other gay groups can bash anyone who does not agree with their positions, yet when hit in the face...

Like rats that they are, they hide behind the homophoeb card.

Good Bye - Sweet Lady

Today, I decided to drop a few lines to a good friend of mine, one of whom I haven't heard from in a while. I knew that she was battling bone cancer, but when I last heard from her, she said she was doing well. I believed it and would not believe that she would leave this life so early. [Sadly]I was wrong.

So today, in my E-mail, I put down, that I hadn't heard from her in awhile and that I hoped all was well. It never occurred to me that the E-mail would fall short and not be delivered. So when it did, I felt this uneasiness about the return e-mail and something just told me to check "lexis."

There she was.

Valenda C. DeCohen, her social security death notification. She died in December of 2006 and was only 46 years old. My heart sank and although I knew it was her, I didn't want to believe it, so I checked the local news papers and there she was...

It was.

It had everything I knew about her in it and like her four children, her mother, her twin sister and father. I now have to come to grips that she is gone.

I, like everyone who came into contact with her, is left with good memories and funnies ones. She was my and could have been one of my best, best friends. I confided in her, like she confided in me. She listened to me and vice versa. We used to talk to each other in the early mornings.

Well I was her alarm clock.

I can't believe she is gone, but at least she is no longer in pain. And I'm not talking about the physical pain that her cancer put her through. I'm talking about the pain her ex-husband put her through. After years of supporting him and giving him four children. He upped and left, cause she wanted to grow as a person. She wanted to define herself as a woman, wife, mother and all of that was for him. How'd he accept it, he got the family together at the dinner table and announced that he didn't want to be married anymore. He fought, kicked and scratched to avoid paying child support, took her three boys away and made her fend for herself.

She was a strong woman, a woman who piqued a lot of curiosity and above all...She was a lady.

Thank you Valenda for allowing to me celebrate your graduation from Cal.State Dominquez and into your life path way. I will NEVER forget you and you will remain a piece of my heart.

Age 46, peacefully made her transition on December 18, 2006. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Lynn, as she was affectionately called, had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. A native Detroiter, she moved to the Los Angeles area in 1975. In 2004, she moved to Dallas, where she was an educator until she was diagnosed with cancer. She moved back to Detroit in November 2005 to be with her mother and family while seeking treatment for her illness. Lynn was a woman of faith. She loved the Lord, as was evidenced by her beautiful smile, kind, loving heart and magnificent spirit. Last summer she planted a beautiful vegetable garden because she was a nature lover who enjoyed the outdoors. She especially loved the mountains and the ocean. Lynn is survived by her daughter, Jezreel; sons, Kadesh, Jeremy and Ethan DeCohen; devoted mother, Patricia Marshall; father and stepmother, Harold and Paula Ward; sisters, Vanessa Ward Hines, Dana Hugle, Makeva Ward, Torri and Gina Hill; brothers, Darrell Wells and Rashaan Washington; a loving companion, Hussein Lynks; aunts, Jacqueline Lowe and Diane (Jules) Jenkins; uncle, Kenneth (Mary) Marshall, a special uncle Jerome Readus; and nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. A family hour will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006, at St. Stephen A.M.E. Church, 6000 John E. Hunter Dr. in Detroit. Fanz23 - Trouble In The Water...Trouble Before The Water..

This morning after watching the replay of Oscar De La Hoya literally quit on his stool after taking a beat down from Manny Pacquiuo. I happened to catch a documentary titled, "Trouble In The Water." And it's about a couple and one man coping with the incoming and post [Storm] Hurricane Katrina and trying to find a way to restart their lives.

Cool.

Everyone after such an storm needs to rebuild and restart their lives after such an event. But what got me was the mixed reactions from the main characters, Kim and Scott Rivers.

It seemed that on one hand...ahh wait a minute, a little disclaimer before I continue on.

I believe that a litany of things did not happen and that a lot of folks share responsibility for the what happened or did not happen in New Orleans. One, once folks received warning that indeed a storm or hurricane was approaching 'Nawlins, folks should have gotten out, if they were able body. It seems to this writer, that if you can afford cable, satellite and or internet usage, you can afford a few dollars to get out of the way of the storm. Katrina when it hit, exposed a lot things about black folk that is only talked about, well, by black folk and even that is taboo unless that person is Jesse Jackson or any of the other cronies that make their living being poverty pimps. In the documentary, in the closing credits the film makers said that the public schools were the worst in the country..ALL FAILING. The film makers in the same closing credits said that Louisiana, after Katrina remains the number one in it's incarceration rate. I guess for this discussion and for reading purposes...We can talk about black folk. So for whatever reason you all come up with, racism, sympathy or whatever you may have. Please take notice that blacks and latinos commit a good portion of all crimes..Which! brings me to this, both of the main characters are criminals, both are drug dealers, so before the storms hit, some areas in 'Nawlins had domestic terrorists in it's street terrorizing the innocent and selling poison to it's own.

Yet, strangely someone else gets the blame for that behavior or it's rationalized. Take this for instance:

"I don't have a high school diploma and you need to graduate from high school or at least have two years of college to make at least ten dollars an hour..I figure why do that if I could out to this corner and make fo' or five hunnert and call it a day."

Scott Rivers said that.

In a rap by Kim titled "Amazing," she chronicles her background which was started by her own mother being a crack head and losing custody of Kim and her brother. Kim states that instead of being in a foster home and separated from her brother (who by the way was in jail when Katrina hit) they rolled the streets, stole to get what they needed and when she got tired of doing that, she herself, sold the one thing that her mother failed to overcome. Drugs. Yet it was rationalized and somehow they are now victims for not leaving when told or Scott spending his fo' or five hunnert dollars the day before Katrina hit, so they had to stay.

Another person introduced in the documentary was a guy named "Brian." Now Brian had a sadder story because his mother/grandmother was in a New Orleans hospital and apparently when the storm hit, the hospital abandoned the patients that were in their care. According to Brian, two weeks after the storm, they still hadn't found the body. Next, after moving with Kim and Scott to Tennessee, the couple and Brian tried to get FEMA assistance, but one problem. Brian, himself was a drug addict and at the time was living in sober house, he could not prove residency. And of course, during the credits, it was told that Brian relapsed and returned back to 'Nawlins after Kim and Brian.

So although the documentary was interesting, I got the feeling that the producers and characters, especially the characters deep down inside believe they took some of blame for their situation, Brian most notably. But on the outside, it's the same blame someone else and point the finger at the rich white folks that had the money to get out and they left us behind like we were second class citizens in a third world country.

And they could not be more wrong...Prior to Katrina, you and others were menaces to society and you treated the areas where you lived, as if you were a third world country. No one to blame but yourselves.

The pay is lower and the jobs are fewer, but the pool of laborers looking for work at sanctioned locations grows larger.

So there I was in the hardware store parking lot, with 150 other guys.

They were all prospective day laborers, and I was not, though I was unintentionally wearing a loose approximation of a jornalero's uniform -- faded baseball cap, khaki pants, the mestizo skin my mother and father bequeathed to me.

Over the course of two hours we talked in Spanish about soccer, religion, politics and, above all, the economy. Only rarely was our conversation interrupted by someone offering a job.

"Let's go and see," Jose Hernandez said when a car stopped at the other end of the parking lot. In an instant, it was surrounded by a dozen men. Two got a job -- 148 or more were left to wait.

The laborers who gather near the Home Depot in Cypress Park do yardwork and construction, mostly. In recent years, $10 has been the preferred hourly wage. These days many will work for less. (Poetic justice, those who came here illegally to work for lowering wages, are being pinched by those continue to come here illegally and work for lower wages. I'm sure the older illegals are bitchin' about the new illegals)

"There are people here who will take $9 or $8 for an hour, or $50 for a whole day's work," Hernandez, a 45-year-old Honduran, told me. The growing number of workers slowly pushes down the wages.

It surprised me, honestly, to find such a big crowd at the hiring site. With the official unemployment rate in Los Angeles County at 11% and thousands of legal residents out of work, I figured the market for informal immigrant labor might have collapsed.

Not so, insisted the guy who ran the taco truck in the parking lot.

"Of course they're still getting work. Would they be out there all day standing in the sun if they weren't?"

The presence of so many men looking for work on the street is one of those things that make people say L.A. is becoming like Latin America.

I've lived in Mexico City and think in a way they're right -- though not for the obvious reasons. It's not the Spanish spoken here, or even the growing gap between our rich and poor.

It's our tolerance of such stark inequality. (What?!, you won't believe how many stories, I've heard from white folk and black folk that latinos are hiring only latinos)

Like the Mexican elite, we native Angelenos have come to accept and enjoy the little perks that come with living among legions of poor people with few enforceable rights. (Racial jab)

"I'll take two guys, for two days," said a woman who arrived at the Cypress Park site with a U-Haul truck. "I can pay $10 an hour. For two hours each day. And you have to be able to speak English." (How dare her, request they speak English, where does she think she is...The United States?!)

The woman said she was moving. "It's not a hard move," she said, but it was too much to do by herself and not enough for a moving company.

At a day-laborer site, you can order up muscle the same way you might order a cord of wood -- no appointment necessary, instant delivery, flexible price. (Excuse me, is that what is offered?)

Back in Latin America, they think of the United States as a country governed by "the rule of law." That's true, except when applied to immigrant labor. (True, we're not doing enough on illegal immigration)

We hire nannies and gardeners to work in our home, and most of us feel free to ignore the trouble of 1099 forms and Social Security taxes -- even while carefully obeying admonitions to recycle our trash or clear our brush. (That tells you what we think of you illegals in the first place, but there are options said illegals can take..like I dunno...Get Out!)

But day-labor sites are the most naked, rawest form of laissez faire capitalism.

American workers have fought for and won overtime and the right to an eight-hour workday. But for a day laborer, not even a glass of water is necessarily a given, according to the guys at the Cypress Park site, who say they are routinely ripped off. (Again poetic justice, illegals routinely rip off hospital emergency rooms and take public aid not meant for you and lets not talk about identity theft!)

I asked Mario Lopez, an assistant manager for the organization that runs six city-sanctioned day-labor hiring sites, including the one at Cypress Park, what my responsibilities would be if I hired a jornalero.

The only rule is that you treat workers fairly, he said, but "there's nothing written."

Day-labor sites across Southern California began to attract large and conspicuous numbers of immigrants a quarter of a century ago.

Back in the 1980s, the Times wrote dozens of stories. Neighbors (still) complained about trash at the sites and the behavior of some workers. Immigrant-rights activists expressed hope that one day the workers would be able to "come out of the shadows" and join the regular workforce.

A generation later, immigrant day labor is an accepted and permanent feature of the urban landscape. Local governments fund and regulate their existence. By so doing, they've given legal standing to a socially acceptable system of inequity.(Please take notice, no one has ever voted for day laborer sites)

Pedro, (an illegal alien) a native of the Mexican state of Michoacan, has been going to a Los Angeles city-sanctioned day-labor site at Cypress Park off and on for six years.

"It's not enough to live on, it's less than what it used to be, but it's still there," he said of the work to be found there. These days, he'll get a job that lasts a day or two -- and then two weeks will go by with nothing.

Declining earnings have driven some of the regulars to homelessness, he said. (Why?! don't they have a shack back where they came from?)

"A lot of people eat at the missions or sleep on el cerro," the hillside, he said, referring to a nearby rocky outcrop in Elysian Park.

If we believe immigrants without documents have a right to be here, we should be working to grant them legal status so they become fully protected workers. (Last checked according to polls, no one but politicians think that, Americans both democrat and republicans don't believe illegals have the right to be here)

If we believe they don't, we should be enforcing the labor and tax laws so that no one works in the shadows. (We try to enforce the laws, but we have weak politicians that can't stomach the vision of seeing people escorted out of this country like the Israelites leaving Egypt, with the exception, we won't be following them in the desert!)

Our society does neither. Meanwhile, our addiction to cheap labor continues unabated.

"True, this is not my country," Pedro told me. "But I don't think that gives people the right to treat me like a criminal."

And now, it seems, this informal, unprotected labor pool is growing. At the Cypress Park site, immigrants with long histories in the U.S. suddenly find themselves looking for work alongside people without documents. (The writer is trying to make a distinction that is not true, every person at these Home Depots are illegals, no one has legal documentation)

Hernandez, the Honduran immigrant, is a legal resident with a stepson in the U.S. Army. He was laid off from a factory job making eyeglasses and has been going to the hiring site since December "because it's better than sitting around home all day doing nothing."

He's trying to keep a positive outlook.

"You're too stressed, catracho," he told another worker, using a slang word for Honduran.

He and others tell stories to pass the time. Like the time a tire came flying off a truck on the freeway overpass that looms over the hiring site.

The tire bounced into the lot and crushed a Mercedes-Benz parked there. A fleet of Los Angeles Police Department squad cars descended on Home Depot, and one took off after the truck driver.

Because in California, one thing is certain: The rules of the road are sacred.
