Finally a so-called black leader has said something I agree with:

- A civil rights leader has joined with a national workers' group in opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants, saying the proposal is "a slap in the face to black Americans." T. Willard Fair, founder and chairman of Independent Voices for Change and president of the Urban League of Greater Miami Inc., has teamed up with the Coalition for the Future American Worker in an ad campaign against plans to give amnesty to illegal aliens and to import low-skilled immigrants. "Once again, nobody is looking out for Black America," Fair said. "Low skilled Black Americans are some of the most vulnerable members of our society, and they must be made whole before there is any discussion of amnesty or guest worker programs," he said. "Congress needs to wake up and put the interests of American citizens before the interests of citizens of other countries," added Fair. According to the ad, statistics from the National Bureau of Economic Research concludes that 40 percent of the decline in employment among black men is due to the hiring of low-skilled foreign workers. The ad campaign will run in major newspapers, trade publications and magazines in the upcoming months.
