RF23 - Is This What We Are?

RF23 – Is This What We Are?

I’ve had some time to think about and continue thinking about the Dorner matter, I’ve thought about the Trayvon Martin matter and sadly and no surprise to anyone, who knows me.  I’m trying to figure out the big hub bub about two Black American individuals who have a bunch of questions about…

Them.

For almost one week Christopher Dorner was the big black man, everyone was afraid of.  Dorner is responsible for the murders of four people, two of them were supposed to be his brothers behind the badge.   However, after feeling he was wrongfully terminated from the LAPD, Dorner went on to accuse the LAPD of racial bigotry and continued prejudice not only in officer ranks but continued within the ranks of the department.   Essentially, Dorner felt he was / is a…

Victim.

Dorner was not a victim, he was, what everyone knows he was,  a cowardly murderer looking to be seen as some sort of truthsayer, the brotha who got done wrong, bamboozled, hoodwinked and since I’m on the roll, he didn’t land on the LAPD! the LAPD landed on his 6 foot, 270 pound now cooked well done ass!

Prior to being pre-cooked and hopefully readied for hell, Dorner wrote what some called his manifesto, I called it rantings of a raving lunatic is what I took issue with.  For instance,  he cited that some of the officers involved in the Rodney King beating some twenty odd years ago, are still with the Department, but yet, he still joined what he called racist and still prejudice department.  It simply does not make sense to me of why someone would join an organization he deemed unethical, yet claiming to be ethical in his own right.   That’s like me joining the New Black Panther Party, knowing that they’re a bunch of racists, civil rights violating thugs and hoping I can make a difference.

But what’s so maddening about this whole thing is that people actually took Dorner’s bullshit and ate it hook, line and sinker and unfortunately prefaced it by saying, I don’t condone what he did, but I understand.

What?!  That’s equivalent to dumbass Chris Rock’s comedy about understanding why OJ killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

That’s being a victim!

And unfortunately, the black community holds on to that card like a spades player holding on to the big joker, which is the race card and the little joker which is now victim card.  This can’t be what we are as black folk, a bunch of done wrong, bamboozled, hoodwinked people.

As we celebrate for whatever years of black history month, think about the people who we choose to remember and celebrate.   Remember those individuals rose above their circumstances and helped to lead others out of their physical circumstances.   Although a good number of our Black heroes were true blue outright victims.   They were and proud to do so, so we won’t be bitchin’ about bullshit that not one of has experienced to the degree of what our grandparents or great parents and even our parents went through.

We’re not victims…We are victorious.

Some of you need to realize that you’re in shallow water and just need to stand up and quit struggling to  be a victim.    JCL

RF23 - The Week After

After every Super Bowl, I post this little message...Enjoy..

The Week After
This coming Sunday, attendance in church will be up. The Sunday school rolls will spike up impressively. Why? No more football. Yeah, every football fan heathen will return to their usual pews and take in some solace that in few months, their mass absense will be noted again. This coming Sunday, attendance will be up at the eleven o'clock service, while it willdrop to its usual low at the eight o'clock service. Why? because theres no need to get up early to catch the opening kickoffs in seven or eight football games across the country.

Now the eleven o'clock service is gonna be filled with depressed football fans mixed in the "I shook my behind all night at the club" crowd and the "After shaking my behind at the club - I knocked da boots" crowd.

As usual no one is more the happier to see a good attendance than the pastor. For 5 months, he has to deal with the really saved and sanctified folks. He can't give his fire and brimstone sermons to a bunch of folk who know they are going to heaven. Shoot, during those five months, the church celebrates, Pastor and First Lady Anniversaries, The church will visit other churches to combine their worshippers, The church will have a three o'clock and a seven o'clock service in hopes of gaining football fan back to the pews. Surely after eight hours of throwing down nachos, beer and ribs. Football fan might have two dollars to give. So after the day after, after all the celebratin' for fans whose team won the Super Bowl. The season is finally over, Its time to go back to the fields and labor in the house of the Lord. Its time to fellowship with those, who have missed your amens on cue, missed your critique of a church member slash track star jumping the pews as if it was a 100 meter race. Its time to give the beer, nachos, BBQ Ribs and hotdog money back to its rightful place! remember its a tenth. Because September is around the corner and up the street..A week after labor day, and how befitting a holiday, after laboring in the house of the Lord, it will be football season again. And football fans all over who've returned to the pews and the deacon's front row have been praying, fastin' and speakin' in tongues.....

LAWD!!!! Let my team win the mother effin' Super Bowl!!!!
