In this episode of “As Tiger Wins,” Playa hater Sergio Garcia continues his verbal jabbing of Woods and this time goes too far.  Yesterday at a banquet, Garcia was asked about his favorite hated golf enemy and said that Woods would be invited over  for dinner and they’ll serve, wait for it….

Fried Chicken…

Sergio? that’s all you got?  Fried Chicken smack to come at Tiger with, you could have hit Tiger where it would most likely piss him off and that’s hittin’ Tiger with some ol’ Johnnie Taylor, “Who’s Makin’ Love to yo’ ol’ lady, while, you were out makin’ love!”   Now that would piss Tiger off! because you got him with a known truth.   Not some stereotypical bullbleep about some damn chicken!  Everybody loves chicken, it ain’t only for black folk like the gheri curl or Afro was.   Hell chicken is so popular, that, get this Sergio, we equate other cooked animals such as rabbit, snake and alligator as tasting like…

Chicken.

So you failed to get an emotional reaction from Woods that you were looking for, just like you failed to get to get him to break his concentration on the last tournament.   You can’t shake him Sergio, and here’s something else, you of all people ain’t going to shake him.   I’m pretty sure the next time Tiger sees you, he’s not going to shake your hand, he’s not going buy your wolf cookies about being sorry.  He’s going to beat you badly in the game, you both play.  He’s going to make you feel inadequate as a golfer and make you feel like you have absolutely zero business being on the same course.    That’s what you did Sergio and while you’re busy hatin’on him.  I’m sure other competitors will be doing the same hating towards you, because essentially what you did two weeks ago was be Tiger’s alarm clock and he hit the snooze button.  This time, you actually woke him up….

And it’s gonna suck to be you.   Well, I imagine it does suck to be you.

RF23 – NOT THE SAME SPORT

Writer’s Note:  The following views like others are mine and mine alone.  However the subject of homosexuality and its placement in the Civil Rights Movement might disturb some readers.  And for that I apologize, I only write to start dialogue and maybe come to an understanding. 

On Monday, It was revealed in a Sports Illustrated story that Washington Wizard reserve center Jason Collins admitted to being gay.   With that announcement, Collins became the first American active athlete in any of the U.S. major sports to be openly gay.   Upon hearing of the news, which was treated as breaking news I wrote on my facebook page the following: 

“I thought the point was to become acceptable and tolerant of peoples differences? Having said that, can someone pass Jason Collins a cookie. Last week Brittany Griner surprised exactly no one with her sexual orientation and now we're supposed to herald Collins like he's some type of modern day hero?”

Well are we?  I say no!  What Collins and Griner did, was let us know their sexual preference.  That’s it!  They’re not the first ones to declare their open attraction to the same sex and here’s something, WHO. CARES?!   I certainly don’t with some degree.  I care if the person who represents to a woman that he is heterosexual, but in fact is gay is infecting women with HIV and spreading it.   Why?!  Because according to the Department of Health and Human Services, of those newly infected women, about 2 in 3 are [Black] American women.  The reasons why could vary from unprotected sex and yes, even in this day and age, ignorance about sex.  But does anyone remember the term “Down Low.”   Let me give you a quick definition of the term, it’s black men who claim they are straight but have sex with other men.   It wasn’t long ago that when the numbers of Black American infected with HIV were going up, men on the “Down Low” was the reason why.   Which brings me to this,   TMZ reported that Collins had a girlfriend and was engaged to be married.  They were together for eight years before Collins broke the engagement off, declaring that he was gay.   Question, was Collins in steady relationship with his ex-fiancé, Carolyn Moos or was he on the “Down Low” satisfying his now natural urges with men.  I’m assuming there were no questions asked if he stepped out on Carolyn with other men. 

Jason Collins is no hero.  He is no great civil rights leader and he’s definitely not Jackie Robinson.   What Collins is, is a free agent looking to latch his 1.1 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game and at 7 feet tall, his .3 blocks per game ass on someone’s team to hold down their bench.  I have no ill will toward him, I remember him and his brother when they played for Stanford University, from all told he is from one of the nicest families and he’s liked by his teammates and every coach he’s played for.  But don’t compare him to the likes of Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King, Jr., or Malcom X.  Don’t put him the same category as Rosa Parks, because last checked, I have yet to hear a bus driver tell a person he believes is gay to give his or her seat to a straight person.  I have yet to read or see “Straight Only” signs.  So don’t insult me and others who honor and never will forget the sacrifices of those who were on the front lines for civil justice.  Don’t insult my intelligence by telling me my beliefs on homosexuality whether it’s religious or whatever are wrong!  ESPN Chris Broussard said it best when he appeared ESPN's On Outside The Lines on Monday when he said, “If you're openly living that type of lifestyle, the Bible says you know them by their fruits, it says that that's a sin," comparing homosexuality to any other sex outside of marriage. "If you're openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be, I believe that's walking in open rebellion to God and Jesus Christ."

Hell, I agree.
