RF23 - NO WEAPON FORMED...

After the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Denver Broncos, Ray Lewis was interviewed after the game and he proclaimed, well actually he screamed, “NO WEAPON FORMED!” I took it to mean after going against Peyton Manning and being part of one of the best playoff games this season that Manning was the weapon that Ray Lewis and his Ravens defense and team prevailed over.

Over the last two weeks Lewis has come under scrutiny starting with the media wanting to discuss his involvement with a double homicide in Atlanta in 2000.  Lewis and some friends were involved in an altercation where two men ended up dead.  Initially Lewis was arrested for suspicion of murder, but was downgraded to what is equal to the murder itself, obstruction of justice.  Lewis refused to give testimony as to what happened and how two men ended up dead.  In street terms, he essentially “no snitched.”  He no snitched and played in a city known as Bodymore Murderland and backdrop for a critically acclaimed HBO series, “The Wire.”

When the Ravens beat the Patriots, I immediately thought of those murders and how the media let Lewis go silent in the first Super Bowl in which he was named MVP after the game and then allowed to rehabilitate his name and character.  Admittedly, he did and years went on without incident.  Lewis gained prominence and rightfully was termed one of the greatest linebackers of all time.  I agree.  I personally like Lewis, his background, what motivated him and I genuinely believe he is a good person.   But, when you scream out No weapon formed, I automatically thought of the weapons formed to killed two mean.  I automatically thought of the weapon, which was the form of Ray Lewis’s 2000 tongue, didn’t form and help authorities give the families of the two men justice.   Lewis doled that out in form of his silence and his wallet.

If life is about second chances, Lewis took advantage of every chance, as so he should have. But he can’t proclaim no weapon formed, when he refused to produce the weapon and the men responsible for using it.

Last year, about this time, I wrote about Tim Tebow and how the media only could see the worse of Tim Tebow the quarterback, only to see him win and win.  Well with Ray Lewis, after the 2000 incident, all we got was the best of Ray Lewis and worse of him was swept under the media rug only to be seen when he disturbed them.   Lewis’s proclaimation of his faith is disturbing to the media and now 13 years later, they want to talk about the worse of Ray Lewis.  I’m no different.   I immediately brought it up! on facebook but never would I think that this week is starting to rain on him.   Now Lewis is being raked over the coals for using an illegal substance found in deer antlers.  Lewis denies usage and the media now wants to add to his file.  That is, if he wins and becomes the game MVP, then it’ll be swept under the rug and brought again at his Hall of Fame entry in 2018.

RF23 - WE CAN'T EVEN DISAGREE

I guess that is one of a million things blacks can’t do against each other.  Disagree.  Earlier today I posted a story of a condemned female inmate in the Great State of Texas, who was scheduled to die by lethal injection this evening.  I posted in my usual style of posting in hoping that this mad female dog (no pun intended) needed to be put down and jettisoned out of our earth like she was a huge monster coming out of a Japanese Bay looking to destroy Tokyo.   A so called facebook friend took exception and started by asking good debatable questions, where he and I could have a discussion on the Death Penalty. 

That was short lived.   He called me an uncle tom, which ended our conversation and our facebook friendship.  To quote Duck Dynasty, “He gon.”

I like to believe that I grew up in a house, where we were taught to express ourselves and to account for our actions by explaining those actions and if those explanations didn’t cut mustard, well we paid for the wrong action and lived to play another day.  

I’m an individual.  I have my own thoughts, feelings and opinions about whatever subject that interests me and if I choose to not be interested.  I choose to exercise my God given right of choice to keep my mouth shut and move on to the next episode.  Apparently not everyone can complete this feat.  We have some, who know nothing or very little opine and give their unsolicited thoughts about things they don’t understand.  

I like Facebook, it gives me another avenue to express myself and to entertain my three hundred plus friends with my wit, my non-political correct humor and my political leanings.  There are maybe a handful of people who I can have good political and sports conversations with and know that I know, we will still be friends at the end of the day.  We talk about the death penalty, black crime, President Obama, economics and even social issues and not once did one of them call me an uncle tom.  We simply just agree to disagree and move on to the next post or thread put in Facebook. 

But now, in the Obama era, we can’t even disagree, I have to vote for Obama’s failed policies, I have to vote for his dismal record on the economy on the last four years and do so knowing in my opinion, he should not have been reelected.   I’m supposed to over-look that he and the democrats forced fed us Obama Care, he forced fed us amnesty for illegal aliens and with all that I’m supposed to be, to quote Duck Dynasty, “Happy Happy Happy”

Well no! I’m not happy he was reelected and no! I’m not happy that a good percentage of my readers, who didn’t catch my Ben Ghazi, Libya ranting and posting did not know that on 9/11/12 we suffered another terrorist attack and lied to! by the Obama administration.  No! I’m not happy to hear and see Americans either unemployed or under employed by the era of hope and change and I’m still miffed that we are moving forward with him. 

I’m a conservative.  I believe in limited government, less taxes, a strong military and good education for ALL American children.  I believe our borders should be secured from Coast to Coast and then some type of illegal alien reform should be done.   I believe in the Constitution, period point blank and if we have questions as to the constitutionality of items, we are supposed to have able minded justices who can interpret the laws. 

But it seems in my community, all that I said above about my beliefs, makes me a tom because I somehow broken some black commandment that I knew nothing about and if I did, wouldn’t abide by it anyway. 

RF23 - At Least I Broke The Slump

 

I’ve been on a long hiatus from my weekly thoughts or dissertations of what I’m thinking or how I feel about a certain subjects.  A lot has happened since my last blog entry or even facebook note and for some reason I’ve been going through serious writer’s block.   I guess like most columnists, I need a vacation, a break from writing the same old tired thing about the United States of Liberal America President Obama.  I’m still pissed that he was re-elected in spite of a bad economy and a scandal that went virtually unnoticed.  I’m equally pissed that the so called republican establishment can’t find or put up a  candidate that can articulate conservative values.   Romney was not the candidate, especially if he, like Obama, has a healthcare system named after him. 

So what to write about, oh! finally the fraudster known as Lance Armstrong admitted what everybody with common sense knew and told Oprah that he used PED’s to win his seven Tour De France Cycling Championships.   I remember when the news that the Doping Agency was going to strip Armstrong of his ill gotten championships.  A female sports hosts named Amy Van Dyke all but called the everyone who accused Armstrong of doping as jealous and witch hunters.   Well Van Dyke, we found our witch and it was in the form of decade long liar name Lance Armstrong.

By now most of you know how I feel about a sports radio and you know I’m more lenient with black athletes than non black professional athletes.  One of one thing I agree with Jesse Jackson is that our airwaves and televisions are all white, all night.  There are no or very little black hosted shows on TV or Radio.   I’m not picking on San Diego (Mexico) based sports radio station 1090 am, but they just re-hired a Scott Kaplan.  Who is Scott Kaplan?  Kaplan was their morning drive sports host along with former Charger and fellow Lord of No Rings, Billy Ray Smith.  Kaplan was suspended for remarks he made  about a female host on Mountain West TV Network in February 2012 and by January 2013, he and Smith are back on the air.   What was taken off?  A show with one black co-host, to quote one of my favorite shows “Duck Dynasty”   He gon’.   So what do we have?  a sports radio station that’s all white all night and day with commercials of Mexican propaganda.
